Our sponsors for this week's challenge are as follows:

I decided on the cute birthday turtle from Bugaboo Stamps and tried to color her up as close as I could to the inspiration photo above....then I perked it up a bit with Melon Mambo and reds....

I hope you get a chance to play along this week - the inspiration photo is gorgeous and the possibilities are endless! Please take a minute to peruse the challenge blog HERE to see what other awesome projects the DT has for you! Happy crafting!

TPE #244 {Chalkboard Technique}

Welcome back to my blog :) If you are looking for my Merry Monday post, please scroll down (it won't hurt for you to admire this new challenge here at The Pink Elephant while you scroll *wink*)

This week's technique challenge is "The Chalkboard Technique." I have to admit, I've admired so many cards using this technique, but I've never tried it. I was excited to give it a whirl...I went to You Tube and scoped out some vid's on how to do it and it looks easy enough. Uh huh....it *would have been* had I had the right ink - or enough of it. I dug out my SU! Whisper White Craft Ink pad and some black card stock and got busy.

My ink pad was not moist enough I don't think - the stamped image I was using was very dull - all the projects I've seen they are crisp, bright white. SIGH. I do not have a refill for the Craft White ink either...so I had to resort to Plan B. Cheat. LOL

I dug out a 6 x 6 pack of MME paper called Chalk Studio and I used this image from it and smudged a bit of my WW ink on it with a sponge to give it that "just wiped" effect on a chalk board. I really do like how this turned out and I am excited to get better ink to try it "for real!" Here's my completed card:

I hope you get a chance to gather some supplies and come get inky with us - it's a messy but FUN technique! Come check out what the rest of the girls made for your viewing pleasure HERE. Happy crafting!!

Merry Monday #102 {Mistletoe}

Welcome back to another challenge at Merry Monday! Do you always scramble right before holidays to get your Christmas cards made? Why not try out our weekly challenges and be ahead of the game come November/December!?

This week's challenge is to use Mistletoe somewhere on your card:

I know you saw this stamp set from me last week as well, but how could I "not" use it for this challenge?!? *wink* It's perfect!!

The stamp set and die are from Papertrey Ink and I stamped the mistletoe in Old Olive, added a button with olive twine, cut out the sentiment with a flag die and wa-laaa! Easy-peesy, done!

I sure hope you can find some time to grab some mistletoe paper, stamps, dies, etc. and join us this week HERE! Happy crafting!

{Transportation} at Sweet Stampin'

Welcome back to my blog!

The challenge this week over at Sweet Stampin' is "Transportation" and I knew right away which stamp I wanted to color up for this challenge - Skaterboy by Kenny K (I have had this stamp for a long time and never used it - not sure if that is the correct name or not)

Our wonderful sponsors for this challenge is Crafty Devils - £15 voucher

My card is fairly straight forward - obviously the skateboard is my means of "transportation" and I embossed the blue panel with big polka dots, added some stars, twine and pearls and WA-LAAA! Done! Love this image for any boy card ;) Perfect....

Be sure to hop on over to the Sweet Stampin' challenge blog HERE to see what the rest of the Sweet Stampers have made for your inspiration. Remember: you need to have some sort of stamping on your project! Have fun!! Cheers!

4 CC #187 {Bunches of Love}

Happy 4 Crafty Chicks Thursday!

The challenge this week is {SPRING} over at 4 Crafty Chicks and right now in central Alberta, we are FAR from Spring-like conditions! We are in the middle of a snowfall warning and have received about 5-6 inches in 2 days. I realize that it's Alberta, and this happens every year - but this has been a long, white Winter and it's time to see some green grass and flowers ;)

That is why I decided to ink up some pretty Coral flowers for this week's challenge! The sentiment is from The Alley Way Stamps called "It's fall about you" and the flowers are from Stampin' Up's set called Flower Shop. It's really hard to see in the pics, but my black panel is embossed with the chicken wire embossing folder....

Thank you so much for stopping in today - I'm hoping to hunker down today and get crafty some more in my craft cave. Be sure to hop on over to the challenge blog - HERE - and see what all the rest of the Chicks came up with for your SPRING inspiration! Cheers!

Happy Merry Monday! We had such an amazing "celebration" week with our 100th challenge! Thanks to everyone who took some time celebrate with us! Are you ready for a fresh, new color combo??

For my card this week, I dug out some Papertrey Ink and Lil' Inker products and got to work on a CAS design:

I used Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White card stock and Basic Grey ink. The holly stamp is called "Mistletoe and Holly" and the sentiment is from "Signature Christmas" both from PI. The white panel was cut out using my Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Rectangular die then popped up using foam squares. The berries were cut with the holly die from Papertrey Ink.

I love, love, love how this card turned out - definitely one I will mass produce closer to Christmas!

STS #16 {Love Ya!}

This week at Seize the Sketch, our wonderful sketcher is Jen Nelson, and she's come up with an awesome layout that can be either very CAS or layered up - I chose CAS :)

I totally fell in love with this image from Redonkadoodles and wanted to use her this week! I embossed my green panel and added some enamel dots - done! Easy peesy! The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. Such a fun card :)

Want more inspiration with this sketch? Come check out the STS blog HERE and see what the wonderful Design Team made just for you! Happy crafting! xoxoxo

Twisted Tuesday {Don't Go Near the Edge!}

Happy Twisted Tuesday!!

Our challenge this week looks like this:

Don't Go Near the Edge!

* Other than your base paper/card stock, don't let anything else on your project get very close to the outside edges. So that means no ribbon going all the way to the edge or border strips, photos or images, etc. Keep everything clustered in the middle

THE TWIST: Use dictionary, old book or script paper on your creation

I used the new MFT stamp set called Grand Peaceful Wildflowers and my new "bow tie" die. I don't really have a lot of "dictionary" or "old book paper" but I think this worked out well. I added some enamel dots to finish off the card.....

I hope you can find some time to get crafty with us at TT this week. For more inspiration, please check out the blog to see what our wonderful design team has for you!

Thanks for stopping in this morning and please stay tuned for a new Seize the Sketch project!! ;)
