MFTWSC109 & CQC#174 - You Are Beautiful

Wow! I got to fit in two "for fun" cards today :) Woot! Woot! It's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of MFT - so I wanted to participate in their Wednesday Sketch Challenge and this week's is so much fun - open to many different interpretations!

I went in search of a color combo and realized that I have not played at Colour Q in *such* a long time (insert bowed, shameful head here!) LOL...the colors this week are SCAAREEMING Valentine's!! So, that's what I made:

This sketch was so easy to follow and I kept it CAS ...turned out lovely, I must admit! :) I think I need to invest in some of the MFT Dienamics Dies...I had cut the fish tail end of the sentiment layer and I was not happy with it....the Dienamics will definitely come in handy!!! ;)

A Card for F-U-N?!? Whoop! Whoop!

 Hello again, crafty PEEPS! I get the privilege to spend time in my craft room today - without DT obligations or deadlines!!! WAHOOOO...a card for fun! I haven't had one of those for quite some time. My good friend, Tamie, is cyber crafting with me via video chat on Yahoo Messenger - it's a lot of fun and we get to help each other out with ideas/tips/suggestions :)

I have been scoping out some new-to-me challenge sites and I came across Sketchy Fridays Challenge Blog - LOVE IT!!! Here's this week's sketch:

and here is my creation...I took the liberty of not putting the sentiment on the bottom, as I had stamped up top on the circle ;) The overall sketch layout is very visible so I'm sure the girls won't mind *wink, wink*

For my card, I used a mixture of papers from the uber cute, masculine EP Note To Self paper pad, and stamped #1 SON from MFT stamp set, Masculine Graphic Tee & Stamp Set in Early Espresso, added some ribbon and some pearls...and, WA-LAAA!! Done-did!

4 CCC #127 - RECIPE Challenge & Crazy Egg!!

Happy Thursday! It's the 5th Thursday of the month - so you know what that means, right? Yep, you got it - CRAZY EGG time over at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Leanne is our wonderful hostess-with-the-mostess this week and while she's off galivanting and enjoying sunshine, pools, drinks and WARMER TEMP's in Beverly Hills, CA....we're here in central Alberta dealing with snow and windchills of -40C!! Hardly seems fair, now does it?!? LMBO...just teasin'....I really hope she's enjoying her vacay and chillaxin' as much as she can :) Cheers, friend!!!

Totally Stampalicious Monday - {Paper Piecing}

Happy Totally Stampalicious Monday!!!

The girls are looking for projects using PAPER PIECING this week....I must admit....this technique is not one of my favorites. I really enjoy the finished look but I really don't enjoy all the finicky cutting!! This little guy turned out rather well this time :) 

I stamped the cutie patootie, Balloon Kidz Boy, then paper pieced the balloon and the basket, cut out clouds and the fence using MFT dies and made my little butterflies with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I really like how this card turned out - he's cute!

Hello, hello, hello!! How is everyone out in blog land today? I am so stoked to be telling you about this week's challenge that Tamie issued...yep, everyone knows that I love, love, love these as my favorite embellie:

4 CCC#125 - PEARLS!!! 

I use pearls on {almost} every card...it's very rare for you to see one made by me without them LOL....for my card I used a new-to-me set from My Favorite Things called Girly Graphic T-Shirt. I absolutely LOVE this set - so many different sentiments to use as slogans on t-shirt - and the die is perfect!! I used last week's MFT Sketch as well - I really love their sketches - check 'em out sometime! :)

MY Fav Color Combo at Totally Stampalicious!

 

 Happy Totally Stampalicious Monday! The challenge this week is a color combo...but, not one issued by the gals over at TS! This one is to be our very own favorite color combo....how fun!!

SO....my favorite is BLUE, BROWN and WHITE!

Well, I have to confess .... it's ONE of my many, many favorites. I am a total color freak...love all colors!

For my card, I decided to ink up this newly-released cutie, Balloon Critters! 

 

I stamped the image and colored him with Copic Markers and paper-pieced the balloon...I used Spellbinders to create my background for him and added Baja stitched ribbon :)

4 CCC#124 {Melissa's Color Challenge!}

Happy Thursday! Welcome back to another weekly challenge from 4 Crafty Chicks :) This week, Melissa, is your hostess-with-the-mostess and she's bringing you the following color challenge:

Being as I am a retired SU! Demo, I sold off a lot of my older colors of cardstock, ink, etc. so I didn't have Soft Sky or Blue Bayou to use for Melissa's challenge this week. I went through  my stash of DP and found this awesome combo in the "Note to Self" pack by Echo Park! I love me some EP!!!

I used a sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes (SU!) and added some Espresso ribbon and a few pewter pearls to each corner panel. This card will be for my cutie-patootie nephew, Cooper! He turns 5 in February :)

4 CCC#123 Ribbons and Bows - Blog Hop & GDT Search!

Happy Thursday! Welcome back to another week of 4 Crafty Chicks. I am back from a lengthy crafting hiatus and am very excited to be joining you this week!! :)

This week marks our 1st Blog Hop of 2013 with a search for our Guest Designers for February, March and April! This is the 4th stop of the HOP...so if you've popped in and want to start at the beginning, click HERE.

For my card, I decided to dig out some Crumb Cake cardstock and do a CAS card. I used a very cool sketch from Retro Sketches Challenge Blog (check 'em out if you get a minute - way cool!!) and my ribbon is the chocolate chip satin piece behind the button. My "bow" was created using the hemp thread in the back of the button :) I had the pleasure of crafting with my wonderful PEEP, Tamie, today (thanks for coming to visit, chick!) and I must say, it felt great to get inky after being out of commission due to our move!
