CMCC #9 {Thanks so Much!}

Welcome back to my blog :) Yesterday I spent the whole day in my bed fighting off some sort of ICKY stomach bug. I don't often get sick like that and boy, I hate it each and every single time! Today I'm feeling better and had enough energy to sit in the craft room for a bit and make a "for-fun" card using the "playful" colors over at Colour Me! Challenge Blog....check it out:

I wanted to sort of "mimic" their picture and create the border down the side with arrows, so I rummaged through my stash of stamps and came across this one from Reverse Confetti:

The large flourish and sentiment are both from my new goodies at Papertrey Ink - soooo fun!!! I added a few enamel dots and wa-laaaa! DONE! I didn't have Smoky Slate so I had to use my Basic Gray ink instead...

Thanks for popping in again and I hope you can find some time to play along with the challenge over at Colour Me...! They are an awesome bunch of ladies! Hugs!

4 CC #183 {Music}

Happy 4 Crafty Chicks Thursday!!

Can you believe it's the end of February already!? I can't....the time is just whizzin' on by, however, winter seems to be lingering longer and longer LOL...funny how that works!? I *am* looking forward to spring/summer but the winter months are when I get to kind of "relax and take it a bit easier" so I'm not in a HUGE rush for the snow to leave quite yet....the walking/running paths just need to clear so I can resume my outside training! *wink*

This week, it's my turn to play "hostess" at 4 Crafty Chicks and I'm issuing the following challenge:

4 CCC #183 {MUSIC}

I want to see anything music-related on your cards, 3D projects, altered art or scrapbook layouts! It's as simple as that!

I went in search of a digi image specifically for this challenge and came across this cute one from The Paper Shelter called Rhythm Everywhere. She's so cute and I can't wait to color her up in various color schemes! I found some music washi tape and silver stars to add to the theme this week :)

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

One Crazy Stamper - Anything Goes
Divas by Design - Make it Sparkle
Simon Says Stamp - Pearls
Scrappers Delights - Bling
Loves Rubberstamps - Washi Tape/Faux Washi Tape
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Ribbon Carousel - Washi Tape
Digi Sketch Challenge - Anything Goes/Blog Hop
Craftin Desert Divas - Glitter
Make it Monday - Anything Goes
The Shabby Tea Room - Washi Tape

I hope you get some time to play along with us Chicks this week! Hop on over to the challenge blog HERE to see what the other girls have for your inspiration! Cheers!

TPE #239 and BIC #48 {Use PINK!}

Welcome back! If you are looking for my Merry Monday post, please scroll down! :)

This week at The Pink Elephant, we are issuing a COLOR CHALLENGE!

We want you to use the color: PINK!!

I received some new-to-me goodies from Lil' Inker Designs and I wanted to use my new Stitched Scallop Border die - so I layered my pinks from darkest to lightest then added a butterfly (not sure where this die is from) and a wonderful sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps. The inspiration challenge this week over at BE Inspired (TAWS) is perfect for my card as well:

 Here's a close up of the stitched border die and the butterfly:

I added a few pearls in different shades of pink and wa-laaaaa! Done!

Id' like to also enter this card into the following challenges:

One Crazy Stamper - Anything Goes
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes
Creative Knockouts - No Square Cards
7 Kids College Fund - Anything Goes

Be sure to check out the rest of the creations the wonderful Design Team at The Pink Elephant created using this week's color sketch and be sure to link up your creation so we can come visit you! Happy crafting!!

Merry Monday #97 {Aqua, Silver and White}

Happy Merry Monday!

Is everyone else experiencing an "Olympic withdrawal" like me? Wow...what an amazing month its been for our Canadian Olympic Team! So exciting....now i guess I will get back into my series of Vampire Dairies on Netflix ;)

We are having a GORGEOUS color combo challenge this week at Merry Monday - check it out:

I apologize now for the lighting on the "aqua" of my snowflake...I chose Tempting Turquoise as my "aqua" and although this top snowflake looks more blue, it really is turquoise ;)

I received my goodies from Lil' Inker Designs and decided to get playing - I am in LOVE with this new Chevron Cover Die...I know I'm going to have a schwack-load of fun with this one!!!  Just imagine all the different possibilities of patterns you can create.....

I stamped snowflakes from the SU! set Festive Flurries and die cut them out with their dies as well. The Merry Christmas die is from Paper Smooches :) Added some bling, popped up the snowflakes, done! Easy peesy...Oh, and I embossed northern lights embossing powder on the large snowflake for some added sparkle!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Christmas Card Challenges - Anything Goes
Cut It Up - Blue/White and a Die Cut
Fun With Shapes and More - Snowflakes
The Stamping Boutique - Use a punch or die cut
Southern Girls - Bling it Up!
ABC Christmas Challenge - D is for Die Cuts

I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week - the color combo is so pretty! For more inspiration, please hop on over to the Merry Monday Challenge Blog HERE and see what the talented Merry Makers have for you! Happy crafting!

Liebster Blog Award

LiebsterBlogAward

My friend and fellow Chick, Tina from Tina's Creative Place was so kind and nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award! If you haven't seen her blog you should go check her out!  Thanks Tina...I am so honored you thought of me!

Here are the rules of the nomination:
  1. Be sure to thank the blog that nominated you and be sure to link back to their blog.
  2. Answer the 11 questions that the blogger asked you.
  3. Nominate 11 of your favourite blogs with under 500 followers and ask your own 11 questions.
  4. Make sure to let each blogger know about your Liebster Blog nomination on their blog (leave a comment and link back to your Liebster Blog post).

And here are my answers to Tina's questions:

1.  What is your favorite type of card to make? I love lots of layers but I also like to try my hand at CAS as well ;)
2.  What do you do with all the cards you make? I have an Etsy shop (that I need to spark up again), I mail some out, I give some away, and I try to sell them locally.
3.  Where do you craft? Bedroom, craft room, etc. I have a craft room/office
4.  What made you decide to start your blog? I wanted to participate in challenges and also share my cards with friends/family!
5.  Do your family/ friends follow your blog? Yes, they sure do and I sure appreciate it! ♥
6.  Do you prefer traditional rubber stamps or digi images? Why? I prefer to actually "stamp" my images because I get all excited and giddy when I lift that block and see the image crisp on the paper. Now, with that being said, I was never able to nicely print out digi's until I got some good cardstock and now I am enjoying that side of stamping as well ;)
7.  What is your favorite holiday? Christmas!!

8.  What is your favorite craft item to purchase? Stamps

9.  If you had to choose between Stampin Up and Close To My Heart what would you choose? Why? Stampin' Up! (I am a retired demo) ;)

10. How many design teams are you on? Seven
11. How much time do you spend in your craft room a week? Not enough for my liking ;) I would say around 8-10?? Not really sure ;)

Here are 11 of my favourite blogs that I have chosen to nominate for the Liebster Award:
Cathy - PapierGirl
Lori - Inking Aloud
Sammy - Sammy Jean
Nance - Soul Stampin'
Kathy - Stamps at Play
Finally - here are my 11 questions:

1. What made you decide to start crafting?
2. Where is your #1 place to purchase crafty supplies?
3. Do you prefer rubber/clear stamping or digi stamping?
4. How long have you been a paper crafter?
5. How many design teams are you on?
6. What's your favorite holiday?
7. What would you say your crafting "style" is? CAS? Layers?
8. What's your favorite source for crafty ideas? Magazines? Online sources?
9. What do you use for coloring your images?
10. What size cards do you typically make?
11. Are you a scrapbooker, stamper or both?

Here is a link  to some info on the award if you are new to blogging and aren't sure what it is all about! Have a great day!

{Curtain Call} - Cozy Quilt

 Happy Saturday PEEPS!

I have been thoroughly enjoying a quiet home day (after I dropped my daughter off at her babysitting job) in my craft room and doing up a few loads of laundry. DH is on his way home from up north and all my housework is pretty much caught up (I know, awesome, right?!) so I wanted to do a couple DT projects up to get ahead of the game and I also wanted to do a "for-fun" card.

I have been meaning to play at the Curtain Call for MONTHS now....and I never seem to make it there. Today, I dug out my new-to-me Lil' Inker Designs "On the Diagonal Die"  , some paper from Bo Bunny called "PinCushion" and a cute stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop called Elegant Sentiments....

 When I hopped on over to the Curtain Call challenge blog, I was so pleasantly surprised to see that Lil' Inker Designs is sponsoring this week! SA-WEEET!! I guess I was "meant" to play there today, right?!?

Isn't this paper and that stitched border PERFECT for this week's challenge!? I thought so too....I had a lot of fun embossing the sentiment as it's been a long time since I've dug out my powders and heat gun! I love how easy-peesy this die creates a gorgeous CAS card in a matter of minutes! Thanks, Lil' Inker!

Thanks so much for popping in today! Not sure I will be back for another "for-fun" or not - I best get crackin' on some future DT commitments...PLUS...there are more Olympics to try and squeeze in before they are all over tomorrow *sniff!* Cheers!!

Today at Seize the Sketch we have a brand new sketch for you to play with - and you have two weeks to share your creation with us - yay!! The design this week came compliments of our wonderful Amy:

I kept very true to the sketch this go-round...the only difference was my butterfly was moved over just a smidgen! Awesome sketch, Amy - it is one you can either leave very CAS or flair it up good!

I used some new-to-me papers from BoBunny called Pincushion Collection and one of my favorite sets from MFT - Vertical Greetings II. The butterfly was made with SU! punches :)

Do take some time to hop on over to the Seize the Sketch blog - the uber-talented Design Team has got some amazing creations for you to check out and then we cannot wait for you to link up your project using Amy's sketch! Happy crafting!!

{Anything BUT a Card} at Twisted Tuesday!

Welcome to another challenge from Twisted Tuesday Challenges!!

This week's challenge goes something like this:

{Anything BUT a Card & Add Chipboard}

Okay, so this could be a bit of a challenge for some...no cards for this challenge. Show us something other than a card.

THE TWIST: Use a piece of chipboard somewhere on your creation

I decided to make a Valentine's Day tag and my chipboard elements are all FOUR shapes that you see on the tag....2 hearts, 2 stars! I came across the glittered stars at Micheal's and I had some Valentine's stash in my scrapbooking drawers! Seriously took 5 mins to create!

Be sure to stop by the BLOG and see what the other super-talented ladies on the Design Team have for you this week - their creations are gonna blow you away! I would love to come by and see what YOU create for this challenge, so don't forget to link up your project for us! Cheers!

Are you ready for a new "products" challenge this week?! Miss Tina is our hostess extraordinaire this time and this is probably one of my ultimate fav's...I use them - A LOT as the girls will attest to ;)

4 CC #181 {PEARLS}

Yep, another Valentine's Day card! I have been on this "theme" for a couple weeks now and I am thoroughly enjoying it! Almost time to start cranking out Spring/Easter cards ;)

I used quite a few dies on my card this week - MFT flower dies, Reverse Confetti flag die (and sentiment stamp), heart punch from MS....This card came together very quickly and for that, I was thankful!

Please hop on over to the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge blog HERE to see what the other Chicks have created for you using pearls. Then, link up your creation so we can come visit YOU!

I hope you have a wonderful "love" day tomorrow - with whatever plans you have made. We are not big Valentine's Day celebration people, and my DH is away working, so I will maybe go out for dinner with him once he's home! Ciao!
