I love a wreath hanging on the door and this new-to-me die from Memory Box called Chatfords Wreath was perfect for the challenge. I added some red and white pearls and stamped the sentiment from Papertrey Ink and it was done. Easy, yet beautiful!

I used a gorgeous Memory Box die for my wreath and added pearls for the berries,then finished the card off with a gorgeous sentiment from Papertrey Ink - very CAS but full of wow factor!

Isn't that inspiration pic just GORGEOUS!?!?

I have seen so many cards with wreaths made out of the Martha Stewart leaf punch and I was thinking...."why not try it with STARS?" Worked out pretty good! My spacing is a bit off by the time I got around to the start again, but I don't really think you can tell ;) lol...Next time, I will draw out a circle as a template and follow that but for my first crack at it, I think it turned out awesome!

Merry Monday #142 {Houses!}

 

Wishing a "Merry Monday" to all my crafty PEEPS! Are you looking for an idea for a Christmas card? Yes, we are all about Christmas cards (all year-round) over at Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge! That way, we are all prepared and READY for mailing out Christmas cards by the end of November!! WAHOO!

The only house I could think of using (or that was in my stash) was this one from the Stampin' Up! set, Christmas Lodge....I decided to stamp it on Crumb Cake and leave it very CAS. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The outside base layer was embossed and inked with espresso ink...added a ribbon and slider and done. TPE #281 {Shakers!}

My card consists of some new designer paper I received for Christmas from a wonderful lady I call "mom" (thanks, Bonnie!), Lil' Inker Designs stitched circle and stars dies, sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and I threw in various colors of sequins! SO FUN!!! :)

I would like to enter my shaker card into the following challenges:

I cannot wait to see other ideas and designs for this challenge - I believe this is only my 2nd (maybe 3rd) shaker card I've ever created - so I'm looking forward to seeing what other designs and ideas are out there!

New Challenge Blog in Town!!!

I stayed up wayyyy too late last night scopin' out blogs and I came across this very intriguing challenge blog at about 1 a.m. It's new in town...just started up....it will be very challenging each week but I am excited to give it a try!

It's called One Layer Christmas Card Challenge! My fellow DT member over at Merry Monday, Susan Joyce, is one of the Design Team members and I am so very excited for her! I have also designed with Vicki Dutcher and Vickie Yeakley - they have a very talented team at this blog....WTG ladies!

 

The whole time I was reading over the blog rules, admiring all the wonderful CAS designs the DT made, I was thinking "well...this is gonna be so awesome! Seriously....how hard could that be?! One layer - easy, peesy...stamp, stamp done!" hahahaa!! It wasn't so easy. I wrecked about 3 different cards trying to get a decent card out of it! LOL Yep...this is gonna be a challenge - and that's PERFECT!

I finally settled with this design and I love it! The twist to this challenge this week is RED so I started with my base of Cherry Cobbler and then heat embossed some white snowflakes (TAWS) and a clear embossed sentiment (Papertrey Ink). I love the WOW factor this card turned out to have!

I tried over and over to get a decent picture of this card (I am thinking it's time to set up a DECENT light station!) and I think this is the best one out of the bunch. I find that Cherry Cobbler is extremely hard to capture in it's true color form...it always turns to a different color of red when I take it's picture ....

This is the first challenge of the New Year for us Merry Makers at the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge. Haven't heard of it, you say?!? Well, it just became YOUR LUCKY DAY!! I found a HUGE snowflake punch at Michael's right before Christmas, so I used my 40% off coupon and snagged it!! I have been wanting to make a card with it ever since and this was THE perfect challenge to do so! Thanks, Kathy!!

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the main espresso panel was cut out using my favorite rectangle stitched dies from 'Lil Inker Designs. I dug through my stash of designer papers and came across this red plaid pattern - love it! LOVE THIS CARD - hope you enjoy it as well.

Welcome back to my blog everyone...I hope you all had a wonderful weekend - outside enjoying the beautiful temps and sunshine! Pretty soon that white stuff will be back to stay, so we need to take advantage of every minute we can....

I decided to play with the far left up/down column: sparkle, die cut and red....

I used my 'lil Inker Designs stitched rectangle die and my new-to-me Memory Box plush poinsettia corner die....added some red cardstock inside the outline of the poinsettia leaves, some bling, stamped my sentiment from Papertrey Ink and wa-laa! Done! Easy peesy! This die is going to be used A LOT!! I can tell that already....it's so pretty!

Fall is my favorite season of the year as far as COLOR goes....Christmas still is my ultimate favorite, but the rich, deep, gorgeous colors of fall make me happy!! The weatherman is calling for S-N-O-W here already...I know, I know!!! I don't like it any more than you do...but there is a chance! UGH!!! I really would like us to have a glorious FALL yet....let's hope they are wrong! hee hee...

Happy Saturday everyone! It's been a busy time around the Turner house the past couple weeks. Gearing up for school to start again on Tuesday; setting up our son with his own truck, insurance, registration; re-siding our house and taking the deck off so the contractors can work....both kids worked all this past week. Ya, been a little nutso!! LOL  I will be thankful when we are back into some form of a routine!

While I was visiting Leanne last week, I came across this gorgeous snowflake wreath that she had in her die cut stash! I asked her if I could have it as I had a "vision" of what I would make for my card. I added some sparkly gems and embossed the top half of the black panel to mimic the inspiration picture (you might have to click on the picture to make it bigger, but its there LOL). Hope you like it:
