TS Monday - Ribbon, Ribbon, Ribbon!!!

Happy Totally Stampalicious Monday! Well, the kids have been in school for a week now, and so far so good! Calvin is in Grade 10 with a full work load and Kimberly is in Grade 8. She tried out for the volleyball team last Thursday (and made it! Yay, Kim!) and also signed up again with her competitive swimming club, so it will be another busy year for us, but not complaining - it's awesome going and cheering them on and being a part of their school/sports world!

We have all kinds of SUPER FUN and EXCITING news this Happy Stampalicious Monday!! Guess who we're teaming up with to celebrate our next new release with???!!!! That's right!!! EVERYBODY'S FAVORITE RIBBON STORE!!! Ribbon Carousel!

The fun starts this WEDNESDAY, Sept 12th and you can bet there's going to be a prize from BOTH Totally Stampalicious and Ribbon Carousel so you DO NOT want to miss this!!!

Oh but wait!!! There's more!!!!

We figured it was time to rev things up a little with a new contest!! We are offering up FREE STAMPS for an ENTIRE YEAR!!!! We're talking ALL NEW RELEASES for 2013!!! (approx 40+ stamp sets) And it's soooooooooo easy to win!! Your name will automatically be entered once for EVERY SINGLE stamp set that you buy!! This week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious is an easy-peesy one! With the upcoming Ribbon Carousel Blog Hop, the girls issued a RIBBON challenge! Told ya it was easy enough!!

For my card this week, I decided to use our newly released funny guy - Baseball Gus!

I stamped Gus and colored him with Copic Markers and fussy-cut him out to "pop-up" on the awesome layers of my Authentique DP series called "Celebrate." I used black satin ribbon to finish it off. Baseball Gus comes complete with 6 "sporty" sentiments and is available HERE.

A Card for FUN?!? SERIOUSLY?...seriously :)

Yep, you heard that right!! I {actually} sat this afternoon and made a card - JUST FOR FUN! Whoop! Whoop! I have been feeling under the weather pretty badly for the past week or so with a nasty head cold and today was the first day in over a week I feel sort of human! I am still stuffy and a headache, but NO WHERE NEAR what it was like earlier :) Thank goodness for Neo Citran, NyQuil and tea!

I {heart, heart, heart} all things My Favorite Things - stamps, dies, sketches, etc. so today I decided to sit and do their Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch #88:
My sister, Jackie, a good friend of mine, Melissa and I are heading to Banff, AB for a 10 km run called Melissa's Road Race on September 22nd and I built this card for my amazing sister! (Hopefully she won't check out my blog before then - ha!) She inspires me so much - she really enjoys running, and this will be our very first run participating TOGETHER...(on a side note, I really need to get out and get training for it - 2 weeks is NOT a long time!) Gonna start tomorrow with a walk and see how I make out with my cold ;)

The Graphic T-shirt set comes with the t-shirt die and makes your card building process go so much quicker! Awesome set - it is sooo versatile! Check it out!  :)

Here's the card I made for Jackie:

Stamps: Graphic T-shirt (MFT)
Paper: Whisper White, Concord Crush, Plumeria DP (Basic Grey)
Ink: Concord Crush
Accessories: T-shirt DieNamics, Flower DieNamics, Spellbinders, twine, pearls, dimensionals, Dots EF

4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #106 - Metal and GDT Search with Blog Hop!

Happy Thursday! Welcome back to another week of 4 Crafty Chicks. This week marks our 3rd Blog Hop of 2012 with another search for our Guest Designers for October, November and December. This is the 4th stop of the HOP...so if you've popped in and want to start at the beginning, click HERE

We absolutely loved having Alethea, Judy and Annie join us for the months of June, July and August and we cannot WAIT to see who will join us next!

This week’s challenge is brought to you from our wonderful Leanne and she is wanting to see METAL on our projects. Whatever you choose to use for metal, is up to you! Brads, eyelets, pins, charms, clips, etc. Let's see 'em!!

For my card, I decided to dust off my Crop-a-dile and use some large eyelets :) I really do enjoy these and I need to start using them again - they make the perfect touch on certain projects!

Here’s the low-down on the Blog Hop:
  • Each Chick has graciously donated a prize to be given to one lucky Blog Hopper who leaves a comment on the Chick’s blog. The winners will be chosen by each Chick using Random.org.
  • To be eligible to win Blog Hop prizes, participants must: (a) become a follower of the 4 Crafty Chicks blog; (b) leave a comment on each of the Chicks’ blogs; AND (c) leave a comment on the 4CC blog.
Would you like to join the 4 Crafty Chicks as a Guest Designer? If you participate in this week’s Challenge and would like to be considered for October, November or December's Guest Designer positions, please put (GDT) after your name when submitting to inlinkz – please remember that you will be committing to a month of challenges - one project per week (which you will receive immediately after being chosen as Guest Designer.)

That's enough of my babbling -  I suppose you ALL want to get busy hopping, right? Well, what are we waiting for? Off you go!!  Don't forget to leave your comments because each Chick has their own blog hop prize to give away!

4 Crafty Chicks' Blog

Here is my prize for one lucky commenter on my blog:

My gift prize contains a package of white organza bows, a cute acrylic stamp set, a package of eyelets and a package of brads. I will also throw in 3 handmade cards :)  Good luck!!
I hope you will all take a few minutes to play along with us this week – we can’t wait to choose our next group of Guest Designers! Have fun, everyone!

Anything But a Card @ Totally Stampalicious!

Hi all! The challenge over at Totally Stampalicious this week is "ANYTHING BUT A CARD!"

I am feeling under the weather these last couple days with a nasty head cold so today's project is a fairly simple-not-much-thinking-required type of project! I like those sometimes :)

I have a small stash of "alterable" items that I've been meaning to make gifts out of and these notebooks were in the box:

I decided to make a "Holiday Planner Notebook" with the cute set called Deacon and Ava HoHo:

I covered the notebook with Basic Black paper, then decorated the front panel :) I think it's very cute! And it was quick - bonus!!

Stamps: Deacon and Ava HoHo - Totally Stampalicious
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Holly Jolly Christmas (EP)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copic Markers, Red Striped ribbon, notebook

Now, hop on over to the Totally Stampalicious Challenge Blog - HERE - to see all the wonderful "Anything But a Card" projects the rest of the DREAM TEAM has created for you! Ciao
