4 CC #274 You are the Coolest....

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday everyone! It looks as if winter has finally arrived here in central Alberta - and it's settled right in. We just had a 2-day storm and it delivered us almost a foot of snow - some places got a bit less, some got more. I had the snow blower out all afternoon yesterday and for now, the yard is clear ;) Truth be told, I would actually be happy with this amount for the rest of the season lol....more time for me to stay indoors and drink coffee, make cards and crochet! LOL....

It is my turn to be the challenge hostess this week and I am looking for some of those cards that I never seem to have enough of on hand....

4 CC #274 MASCULINE CARDS

This "cool dude" is from Kenny K and he is a pre-colored digi that I bought from my LSS in Rimbey a year or so ago....what a great find!!

I hope you have some time to come and get crafty with us Chicks - pop on over to the hen house HERE and link up your card for us to come visit you! Cheers!

As You Like It #67 {Favorite Season}

Welcome back to my blog :) If you are looking for my 4 Crafty Chicks post, please scroll down....

For the next 2 weeks, the challenge over at As You Like It is "YOUR FAVORITE SEASON."

The sponsor of this challenge is

Sweet and Sassy Stamps

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favorite Season (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

My favorite season used to be Spring but for the past 10 or so years, I am loving my winter months. I love the slow-down and get the time to hunker down in my house with the candles lit, coffee on and diggin' out all my crocheting and stamping supplies!

This card was another I made at Diane's Christmas Stamp-A-Stack a few weeks back. Totally am in love with this window die and winter scene - both from Stampin' Up! Be sure to come on over to the As You Like It Challenge blog and see what the rest of my incredibly talented team mates have created just for you! Link up your project too - we'd love to have you!! Tell us what your favorite season is ;) Cheers!

4 CC #273 {Inspired by a Christmas Song}

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday! We finally got some white stuff that stuck to the ground last night and made the roads a bit slick and icy but it's starting to look more and more like November ;) I wouldn't mind if we didn't get much more of it. Don't get me wrong, normally, I do love the snow and the winter time, but this is my daughter's first year of winter driving and it worries me - A LOT! So, I'd be happy with just the cooler temps and light snow LOL...

This week, over at 4 Crafty Chicks, miss Tamie is our hostess and for this weeks challenge, she's looking for cards that are inspired by Christmas tunes.....check it out:

4 CC #273 {Inspired by a Christmas Song}

My card was made at my good friend, Diane's, Christmas Stamp-A-Stack a few weeks back. I don't get to attend those very often, so I was ecstatic when I found out I could go! As I was making this card, I found myself singing the tune - "Have a Holly, Jolly Christmas....it's the best time of the year"

I had such a great time hanging out with Diane's stamping group, making cards - be sure to keep an eye out - I will be showcasing more of them in the weeks ahead :) Be sure to hop on over to the challenge blog and check out what's shakin' in the henhouse this week - you will NOT be disappointed and, it will trigger your Christmas carols memory!! Cheers!

4 CC #272 {Ribbon}

This is a very late post for my 4 Crafty Chicks challenge this past week. My little sister, Jackie, and the 3 kiddos came for a visit on Wednesday and the house was busy, busy, busy until Friday afternoon. We all had a chance to get inky and crafty while they were here, even Cooper, he made a couple cards too! We cleared off the kitchen table, added a table for the kids to sit at and got to work! ;)

Miss Tina is our hostess this week and she's looking for RIBBON on our projects - my card has a few ribbon(s) on it - on the pressies and I added real red satin ribbon as well:

I hope you can find a bit of time this weekend to get crafty with us Chicks! Come on over to the blog and see what the henhouse walls are filled with - CRAFTY GOODNESS! Happy crafting!

4 CC #271 {2-step stamping}

Good afternoon everyone! So sorry that my 4 Crafty Chicks post is late - I had every intention of having a card done "early" but life things have been getting in the way....

Leanne is challenging us to do some 2-step stamping and I bought a Misti especially for this type of challenge...do you think I have any stamps for 2-step stamping?!? ACK!!! I had scoured my cupboards over and over for a set to try out the technique and came across an oldie from Stampin' Up! called Field Flowers. I tried that set 3 different times and it looked AWFUL! lol...so I remembered that I just received my Stamp of Approval bundle from Catherine Pooler in the mail a week or so ago and came across a wonderful set from "the ton" Couture Clear Stamps called Holiday Flourishes....

There are a lot of flourishes and pretty whoop-de-whoo's in this set PLUS this adorable holly collection - with outline stamps etc - perfect for 2-step stamping:

For the leaves, I used Wild Wasabi and then stamped over them with Garden Green and for the berries, I used Cherry Cobbler and stamped the outline in black....

Be sure to hop on over to the 4 Crafty Chicks blog and see what the rest of our Chicks have for you - be sure to also welcome our new Guest Designer! Cheers!
