There are gorgeous puddles all over our yard and it looks so fresh and lush outside now. It's very cold though, it's only +3C here right now. "Magical" Color Throwdown & ICS

Hello again! Well, I made it back...I survived my 3rd night of boot camp and I must admit, I'm a wee tad sore. I think tomorrow will be a "movin-kinda-slowly" sort of day. Amazing how fast your body can resort back to "no, don't make me do those things!!!" mode after "chillaxin" for a few months! :)

Tonight Melissa wanted Tamie, Leanne and myself to join her while she did the Color Throwdown Challenge for this week. So, we did it through cyber crafting LOL...Check out the girls' blogs to see if they did the challenge....I also used the Inspirational Card Sketches challenge this week for my card....

...here's my card combining both challenges:

Stamps: A Little Bit of Magic; Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Welcome Neighbor DP; Ink: Black Staz On; Accessories: markers, white ribbon, scallop trim punch, dots embossing folder, dimensionals
Thanks girls for the fun! I am going to clean up my mess a bit and try to coordinate some stuff tonight that I can start on in the morning :) I think I need to just "be" and not use my brain too much tonight - I'm tired! Almost time for beddie bye! Have a great night! Ciao!

I came across this very interesting sketch from Paper Works Co. and I just *had* to give this one a whirl...it's very unique! I had scraps of DP left over from my Colour Q challenge last night, so I figured, "why not use 'em up?!" My card also qualifies over at Crafty Creations Challenges where they want us to make a creation having some sort of "encouragement or celebration."

...and VOILA! Here's my card:

Stamps: Elements of Style, Pocket Silouettes; Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Soft Suede, Thoroughly Modern DP, Pink Flamingo DP, Whisper White; Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Soft Suede; Accessories: sponge dauber, acrylic block

Colour Q and Friday Sketchers

Good evening my fellow crafting PEEPS! Man, it *seriously* feels like FOREVER since I've blogged! So sorry for the lull, but life has been fairly busy around here lately. Between boot camps, kids school, gardening, yard work, stamping classes, 4-H and normal everyday LIFE stuff, it's been a bit hectic to say the least! I took full advantage of sitting down tonight after boot camp and making a card. Actually, I put a challenge out to Tamie this afternoon as she was in a bit of a crafting FUNK, so be sure to hop on over to her blog HERE and check out her amazing contribution to the challenge! I used the Colour Q color challenge and Friday Sketchers sketch for my card. It took a bit of "muckin" tonight to get the sketch to work with my image...but I think I got it!

....here's my card incorporating both challenges:

Stamps: Elements of Style, Medallion; Paper: Summer Sun, Soft Suede, Kiwi Kiss DP, Bermuda Bay DP, Whisper White; Ink: Bermuda Bay, Kiwi Kiss, Black Staz On; Accessories:paper piercer, markers, dimensionals, circle punch, oval punch, label punch, square lattice embossing folder

Thanks, Tamie, for the fun today...sorry it is so late getting blogged! Boot camp called again tonight....thanks for stopping in tonight and please don't forget to go and check out the PPC "Follow Me" Challenge over at Picture Perfect Creations...CLICK HERE for details! "Oh What a Night!"

Good Friday afternoon PEEPS! It's been one heckuva 24 hours for me let me tell ya...as I mentioned yesterday, I was heading out last night with Melissa, Tamie, and my sister Jackie, to go and see cutie-patootie-sexy-babealicious DAUGHTRY last night with Lifehouse and Kavo opening for him, right?! Melissa got here right at 3:30, we hopped in my van, stopped in Millet, picked up Tamie and headed up to do a bit of shopping and supper in South Common Edmonton. All's good...life's good...we're all out without our kids or DH, no stresses of home, etc....you get the point right?! We left South Common around 6:20 to go and pick up Jackie in Sherwood Park. I was just turning into Sherwood Park and all of a sudden, my poor Red Baron (that's what I call my van) had no get-up-and go....no drive, no reverse, no first, no second, NOTTA! So, we had to coast to a place in the intersection where we wouldn't get hit or block traffic...lol...ya, we got A LOT of looks - 3 women broken down - drove us crazy people laughing at us and staring like we just had a major collision or something LOL...anyhew...poor Jackie is waiting at home frantically wanting out of the house and long story short, the transmission is shot and we are waiting for a Ford Dealership in Edmonton to call us and let us know the damage and how much. We might just have to trade it off and get something else..not sure yet.

We DID make it to the concert - a bit late and frazzled, but we made it and Lifehouse and Daughtry were AMAZING!! Tamie's DH picked us up in Sherwood Park after the concert and then my DH met us at the Millet overpass to take Melissa and I back to our house....so needless to say, we are all a very tired bunch today - Melissa and I didn't get home until around 2 a.m. and she had to work this morning at 8, so I hope she's surviving LOL.

Another epic adventure in my life - soooo glad I was able to spend it with 3 of my wonderful PEEPS! Thanks girls for helping me NOT cry and lose it right there in the middle of the intersection! LOL...luv ya all! xoxoxo

Here's looking forward to the next adventure....

Playin' with Glitter!

Happy Saturday! How are ya?! I'm fabulous! Today has been a very nice day for us here in central Alberta. The kids did 4-H Highway Clean-Up this afternoon and I spent a good portion of the day with my good friend, Tamie, and her family as it was her Dad's 80th birthday and they invited me to the event. It was so nice to meet everyone in the family and put faces to names as I've heard of them throughout the years but haven't met most of them. Thanks again Bon-Bon and Tamie for inviting me :) xoxoxoox

Both kids are at friends so it's just been DH and I here at home. It's been so nice to just sit and craft and hang out with him (yep, he's been muckin on my puter while I craft) lol....but that's ok - we are spending time together in my office and that's great!

The Shabby Tea Room has a very messy challenge this week - they want us to "Get Your Bling On" so I took that as glitter....well, it's ONE MESSY EMBELLISHMENT let me tell ya! And...I did not chintz out on the glitter this time around - no sireeee! DH figures it's a bit too much but I don't - the more bling the better, right?! I saw a card like this on Splitcoaststampers, but they had sponged the inside I think....I decided to put glitter in the spaces for the petals :)

Stamps: Well Scripted; Paper: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Whisper White; Ink: Rose Red; Accessories: Leaves die, glue pen, glitter, acrylic block.

Not too sure what the rest of the evening holds for me.....I hope you are all having a fantastic Saturday!!

P.S. Don't forget to hop on over to the Picture Perfect Creations Challenge Blog and get your card in for this week's color challenge! The deadline is 10 a.m. EST on Monday, May 10th! Hurry on over! :)

Copics Class with Laura!

Last night, my good friend, Melissa, and I went to Scrapbooker's Paradise in Red Deer and attended a Copics 101 course with Laura Fredrickson teaching us! It was VERY informative and sure helped me to understand the history and usage of Copic markers. Coloring is being "reborn" where I am concerned, but it is a lot of fun and I'm excited to take this new avenue of crafting.
Melissa and I signed up for another class, Copic Texture Techniques, and that one sounds super exciting!

Thanks again, Laura, for the informative evening - you ROCK!!!

These are the 2 cards we made using Copics supplied with our class fee:

We focused mainly on the 2 fish - coloring and shading with different markers. It was a lot of fun! Thanks for stopping in - I'm hoping to be back sometime over the weekend - I am missing being in my craft room...DH is on his way home tonight, so not sure how much time I'll have to craft. TTYL!!

Tuesday Night 3-in-1

Hello again crafting PEEPS! The wind is still a howlin' out there, but at least the snow has quit. We are in for a chance of more flurries tonight, but a slim chance, so we'll see! DH and the kids were busy playing the Wii tonight so I decided to take that little window of opportunity and *RUN* to my craft room, shut the door, plug in my iPod and get inky!!! :)

I decided to do Julia's wonderful sketch challenge over at Little Paper Shop Blog. I flipped it on it's side and decided to use a sentiment as my focal point. My DH loved the saying! This card also qualifies over at Totally Stampalicious for their challenge of "Flower Power!" and Crafty Catz Challenge Blog for their challenge of "Spots"

Here is my card using all 3 challenges:

Stamps: Growing Old (LPS); Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Pea DSP; Ink: Brilliance Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron; Accessories: paper piercer, nestabilities, flowers, brads, pearls, pumpkin pie ribbon, dimensionals, glue dots, sponges
Well, that is it for me tonight - I have a few challenges I am anxious to attempt tomorrow so until then, sleep tight!! G'night!
