PPC - CC #12

It's time for another awesome color challenge at Picture Perfect Creations! Thanks to all of you wonderful crafting PEEPS who play along with us each week...it sure is fun to see what you come up with using the challenges! Megan picked a very "interesting" batch of colors for us to play with this week and I must admit, I struggled a wee bit with them, but I think it turned out to the good :) I used a sketch from Sketch Saturday for this creation except I didn't turn my main image panel...I left it up/down....hope you enjoy it!

...and here's my card incorporating both challenges:

Stamps: Season of Friendship, Well Scripted; Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Sage Shadow, Whisper White, Perfect Plum, Thoroughly Modern DP; Ink: Sage Shadow, Soft Suede, Perfect Plum, Bravo Burgundy; Accessories: acrylic blocks, circle punches, pearls, marker, eyelet border punch, square lattice embossing folder, dimensionals

Tuesday Night 3-in-1

Hello again crafting PEEPS! The wind is still a howlin' out there, but at least the snow has quit. We are in for a chance of more flurries tonight, but a slim chance, so we'll see! DH and the kids were busy playing the Wii tonight so I decided to take that little window of opportunity and *RUN* to my craft room, shut the door, plug in my iPod and get inky!!! :)

I decided to do Julia's wonderful sketch challenge over at Little Paper Shop Blog. I flipped it on it's side and decided to use a sentiment as my focal point. My DH loved the saying! This card also qualifies over at Totally Stampalicious for their challenge of "Flower Power!" and Crafty Catz Challenge Blog for their challenge of "Spots"

Here is my card using all 3 challenges:

Stamps: Growing Old (LPS); Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Pea DSP; Ink: Brilliance Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron; Accessories: paper piercer, nestabilities, flowers, brads, pearls, pumpkin pie ribbon, dimensionals, glue dots, sponges
Well, that is it for me tonight - I have a few challenges I am anxious to attempt tomorrow so until then, sleep tight!! G'night!

Wintery, Cold Thursday....

Good morning! It's a very cold, wintery, windy day here in central Alberta. We are still in a winter storm warning for our area. We woke up to a bit of snow, but nothing like southern Alberta. The sun is actually *trying* to shine now....There are power outages, highway #2 has a no-tow zone and RCMP are advising no travel south of Red Deer. Crazy!

It's a great morning to light some candles, brew the Starbuck's coffee and do a card! So, that's what I did :o) I decided to give the Diva Coffee Break Designs color combo of Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise and Dusty Durango a go...I found it a bit difficult actually. I started it last night and had to leave it overnight while I slept on it. Woke up this morning and finished it off...I think it turned out pretty good :) I went in search of a sketch to use for my colors and found a cool square card over at Splitcoaststampers and over at Your Next Stamp Challenge, they want us to "Go Dotty" and that's what I did! Also, over at the Creative Belli Blog, they want us to create a birthday themed card with some "older" products...my Pink Passion cardstock is older as it doesn't get used very often. This card also qualifies for the "Make It Sweet" challenge over at Pile It On!

...and here's my card using all 4 challenges!

Stamps: Happy Moments; Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Pink Passion, Dusty Durango; Ink: Versafine Black, Basic Black, Dusty Durango; Accessories: markers, paper piercer, pearls, nestabilities, durango ribbon, dimensionals, sponge dauber
I hope you all have a fantabulous Thursday! Happy crafting if you get any in...I *think* my Stamp Camp will probably proceed tonight as scheduled, but I'm not 100% sure yet. Depends on the weather as the day goes on. Ciao!

PPC - CC#10 - Happy Holidays

Welcome back to another challenge at Picture Perfect Creations! This week, Megan has a bright, cheery color combo for you all to try...I had a lot of fun doing this one. When I saw these colors, they were yellin' CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS!!! Not sure why, but they did.....I used the sketch challenge from Sketch Saturday as it fit my image perfectly:

Stamps: Holiday Lineup, Many Merry Messages; Paper: Whisper White, Bordering Blue, Real Red, Certainly Celery; Ink: Versafine Black, Basic Black; Accessories: markers, cuttlebug folder, pearls, dimensionals, clear embossing powder

Flutter by Wednesday and MFT....

Good morning! Yep, it's morning...1:20 a.m. to be exact and Leanne and I are still crafting :o) DH is out with the buds tonight, kids are both having sleepovers at friends houses and we are ALONE...crafting....in my craft room! Yayyyyyy!!

We decided to go through my stamp stash and find ones that we can color. So, I knew right away what I wanted to color...one of my My Favorite Things Pure Innocence stamps. I picked Blooming Good Day and I used the Flutter by Wednesday sketch from Mercy Kerin:

Stamps: Blooming Good Day (MFT); Ink: Basic Black, Versafine Black; Paper: Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, My Mind's Eye; Accessories: markers, butterfly punch, pearls, dimensionals, clear embossing powder
Thanks for stopping in - tomorrow is our stamp club so I might be back tomorrow evening, we'll see. Take care and happy inking!!!

I got my Stamp Camp class all prepared and ready to go! Yipeeee! I'm so excited that I'm getting things organized and ready - I got a phone call today and a lady would like to have a workshop on April 27 or 28, so now I have MORE prep to do :) But...at least I have my other 3 classes almost all done! Yay! So....Kim and I decided to make cards together tonight - and take a break from cutting cardstock for classes...fun! She wanted to make Tamie's daughter, Kaitlyn, a birthday card and I wanted to get the Diva Coffee Challenge done and out of my mind. I have had this image stamped and colored ALL DAY and I kept looking at her and wanting to make a card, but NO..work first! HEE HEE...My card also qualifies for the new challenge over at Flutterby Wednesdays. It's an "OPEN" challenge so it's whatever goes....

It's another sneak peek from the new Summer Mini starting May 1st...be sure to get your hands on a copy - there are A LOT of goodies in there that I *know* you will want (NEED) to have! ha ha...the embossing folder is a new one too....

Sneak Peek and Play Date Cafe Challenge #25....

I'm back with another challenge and a sneak peek from the new Summer Mini catty! I decided to do the Play Date Cafe color challenge of white/black/orange and I knew *exactly* which stamp I wanted to show you....it's a new one from the back of the Summer Mini catty that starts May 1st. I scoped around the challenge blogs looking for just the right sketch for my featured stamp...and I came back to the Mojo Monday sketch from this past Monday....hope you like it!

I totally LOVE the Night and Day DSP that was in the Holiday Mini...I sure hope they bring it into the main catalog in July! My DH helped me color the motorbike ... see, he's useful sometimes LOL...hahahaha! Just teasin...he's always helping me with my cards and he has to "inspect" every one I complete.
Stamps: Motorcycle (Summer Mini), It's Your Birthday; Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Night and Day DSP; Ink: Versafine Black, Basic Black; Accessories: clear embossing powder, markers (pumpkin pie, gray), paper piercer, dimensionals, adhesive pearls

I'll probably be back a bit later on tonight with another installment! I'm hoping to work on the Diva Coffee Break color challenge of Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral and So Saffron (with another sneak peek from the new Summer Mini!) Ciao!

Bright, Sunshiney Day!

Good evening again...yep, it's WAYYYY past my bedtime (especially being as sick as I am) but DH is away tonight and the kids went to Nana and Papa's to have a sleepover - so I decided to chat with my great crafting PEEP, Leanne, online while I made one more card. I saw the new Color Throwdown color challenge and the Inspirational Card Sketch challenge for this week and knew *exactly* what I was gonna do....mwah, ha ha......

This card also qualifies for the Papertake Weekly Challenge of "Cutie Pie" - don'tchya think?!? LOL....
Isn't she cute too?! All these little ones are so adorable...I just love 'em :o)
Stamps: Sunshiney Day - MFT; Paper: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Basic Gray, So Saffron DP; Ink: Basic Black, Versafine Black; Accessories: Nestabilities, paper piercer, pearls, markers, dimensionals

Sorry for the short, short post tonight, but my head is about ready to explode off my shoulders and my nose is a runnin' away on me...time to go and take some Benylin night time and crawl into my nice warm bed for the night. I hope to be back sometime tomorrow!! Ciao!

Bailey's, Verve and a Play Date

As you probably figured out from the title of this post.....I am having some Bailey's while crafting...YEP! I sure am - I am enjoying a scrumptious Cadbury's hot chocolate with some caramel-flavored Bailey's - YUMM-O! DH is gone away working for a few days, so I'm totally taking advantage of my craft room tonight!

I found some My Mind's Eye DP (yep, that I've been hoarding - shhhhhh!) to go along with this lovely color challenge from The Play Date Cafe...and....I also dug out a set from Verve that has not seen ink yet (head hung in shame). So, tonight was the night! The gals over at Flutter by Wednesday's wants us to use some "SPARKLE" on our flutterby's...so I added some gems to my butterfly :)

Usually, these colors would pose a slight "setback" on my crafting MOJO, but tonight - they went together just "tickitty-boo!" Hmm...wonder if it's the Bailey's....*eye roll* hahahaha...

Well, PEEPS, I've had an incredibly creative day today. Six cards posted! WOWZA's! I think that just *might* be a record for this girl. That's it for me tonight - time to clean up my craft zone and get things ready for tomorrow. The kids both have 4H and I am going to "attempt" a walk or the gym or SOMETHING tomorrow before I settle in for yet ANOTHER crafting frenzy tomorrow night! Yay!!! Stay tuned.........................

TSTR - Embracing the White

I'm not sure about all of you crafting PEEPS out there in blog land, but I have difficulty "embracing the white" LOL...The challenge this week over at The Shabby Tea Room - hosted by my good friend, Melissa - is to "embrace the white." I will just say that I didn't really know *what* to do, so I went to my cuttlebug folders and just started embossing some different patterns and I came up with what I came up with. I used the "vanilla" color in the photo as my inspiration....I think it will make a great wedding card in various colors now that I've got it done! Thanks for the challenge ladies!!

Stamps: Whimsical Words; Paper: Whisper White, Barely Banana; Ink: Basic Black; Accessories: embossing folders, vanilla satin ribbon, punches, pearls, dimensionals, scallop trim punch

It's just the kids and I home tonight, so I'm off to magically create something for supper LOL...I'll be back later! Happy stamping!

Genuine Boy Card

The kids just finished their lunch break and I took the chance to get another card put on my blog while they were eating! I slowly worked on this card while they were doing school work and needed my help...I would cut a few pieces, color a bit, then go help one of them...come back and keep going hee hee...one way to get the cards done right?!?

This time I ventured over to Taylored Expressions to see what goodies were waiting there for me and lo and behold there was a cool sketch there. I saw "boy" when I saw the sketch and I remembered that over at ColorQ, Arielle had some "boy colors" happenin' :o) Yay!! My only hard part, was finding some boy stamps that SU! has...I don't know about all you out there, but I really struggle in that department when it comes to SU...in my opinion, they don't offer a lot of stamps for the male gender. Thank goodness I keep some oldies kickin around for times like these!!!

When I saw the colors from Arielle, I instantly thought of these papers I have had forevah and decided to get them out and use some of it up. It's from My Mind's Eye. I don't have a lot of Tempting Turquoise DP that is boyish, so this was what I had to work with!! Close enough in my books....:)

Stamps: Bronc Buster; Paper: Soft Suede, Night of Navy, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, My Mind's Eye DP; Ink: Versafine Black; Accessories: clear EP, markers, pewter brads, pewter pearls, dimensionals, paper piercer.
I also got some chocolate chip cookies made before lunch, so now I'm off to start the banana bread! I'm trying to get my snacks and breads caught up for the weekend so I can CRAFT the weekend away!!! :) TTYL....

Blustery Friday!!

Wow, not sure if you are all keeping up with the weather in the past 24 hours here in central Alberta, but we've had quite a winter go-round! The main highway, Queen Elizabeth 2, was shut down from Ponoka to Airdrie last night due to numerous vehicles in the ditches and collisions due to the blowing snow and low visibility. I came home from Edmonton around 6:30 and it was NASTY! I had to stop a few times right in the middle of my lane on the highway cuz I could NOT tell where I was driving!! I hate driving in stuff like that when I have my kids with me....I was a bit stressed by the time I got home let me tell ya!! But...we made it home safe and sound and I had a tea, put my warm, fuzzy slippers on and crocheted on the couch under my warm afghan!!!

This morning it's windy, but no more snow has fallen. DH had to leave for about a 2 hour drive north to a job, so I got up with him around 5 and helped him get out the door, threw on the coffee pot, got dressed in my warm winter duds and got to work finding some challenges! Julia, over at Little Paper Shop, came up with a great sketch this week and Melissa and I were in Red Deer last week and popped in to see her! I bought some more of her wonderful stamps and decided that I just *HAD* to ink up this cutie!!!

I then needed some colors....well, given the image I chose, I needed some softer, "pajama-type" colors and Danielle over at Color Throwdown had a PERFECT combo for me!

The gals over at Crafty Creations Challenge Blog are wanting us to do some "paper piecing" for their Challenge #62....fits my card! :)

I hope you take the time to try out these awesome challenges - they are fabbie ones this week!!!

...and here is my little cutie-patootie girlie!

Stamps: Little Paper Shop (Beary Special?); Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Old Olive DP, Bella DP (retired), Going Gray; Ink: Versafine Black, Basic Black; Accessories: various markers, gray pearls, white pearls, paper flowers, nestabilities, Martha Stewart border punch, gray ribbon, sponge dauber
Thanks for stopping in this morning. I hope you have a fantastic Friday and I'm hoping to be back later on after school is done! Happy crafting!!

Play Date Cafe Challenge #23 and a CASE

Good afternoon! Today has been a fairly laid back, relaxing kinda day...we got our taxes done, bread is in the bread maker, supper is on the stove, and I actually got some crafting in - yippeee!

I came across a very stunning card over at Kathleen's blog, "My Happy Stamping Place" and I've wanted to CASE it for a while now - with the Play Date Cafe's color challenge of dark blue, light blue and white, I decided now would be a good time to give them a try! I did them in 2 different colors - both using Brilliant Blue, Turquoise and White. I hope you enjoy them. Thanks, Kathleen, for the gorgeous idea for a quick, simple but elegant card!!

Kathleen used the Finial Press embossing folder, turned it over, and brayered on the flat side with color to create her own background paper. I think they are just stunning - and could you imagine what color combinations you could make with it? Kathleen's Razzleberry and plum is beautiful too - make sure you check it out!

Stamps: Short and Sweet; Paper: Whisper White, Brilliant Blue, Tempting Turquoise; Ink: Brilliant Blue, Tempting Turquoise; Accessories: finial press, brayer, beautiful butterflies sizzlits, paper piercer, scallop trim punch, dimensionals, pearls

....and here is the card I created using all 3 challenges listed above:

Whiff of Joy and Color Dare Challenge....

Oh it's been such a *wonderful* day here in my craft room :o) Coffee tastes fantastic, tunes are cranked, ideas are a flowin'...and the challenges are wicked today! I've had such a great day!! Here are the details of my next creation(s)....

Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog has this wonderful sketch challenge up for us to try:

I have a few of their stamps and I totally *heart* them....this is the first time I've had ink on this one! She seems a bit "solemn" so I decided to make it a sympathy or "sorry" card. Seemed to fit her.....

The gals over at Color Dare have put together the most AWESOMEST colors...I really love this combination of colors...had no difficulty deciding what to do with them!! Hope you enjoy it too!!
Here are the 2 cards I made with the same stamp...I decided to make one a blonde cutie and one a brunette cutie....hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!!

I am not sure if I will be back tonight or not, I have a very busy weekend ahead and so I need to get some stuff ready for that. Kim, our daughter, has a competitive swim meet in Edmonton tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. and that will be a full day. I might be back on Sunday - we'll see how the weekend goes....take care and happy stamping!!

2 Sketches 4 You #40

My good friend, Tamie, led me to this wonderful challenge! Hop on over to see what beautiful creations Tamie did for this one....

This sketch comes from Laura and Kazan over at 2 Sketches 4 You. This one was a lot of fun to do - really got my mojo flowin...I used a special stamp I've been *hoarding* for a couple years now and haven't put any ink on it (yes, I know...it's a coffee stamp and I haven't used it yet....head hung in shame). BUT..tonight was the night and I think both cards turned out "ok" but my coloring tonight leaves much to be desired LOL....thanks for poppin' in....happy stamping!

These are the 2 cards I made for the sketch challenge....I used different punches and pearl configurations along the bottoms of each card....these cards are both 5 x 5 cards. Thanks for clickin' by to see my works of art! Stay warm...

Fun with Square Punches...

I just got my Stampin' Up! square punches a couple weeks ago and haven't had the chance to use them. I found a card sketch on Splitcoaststampers that used them and I decided to make my own version. I had wanted to use a scallop nestabilities on the black square for the main image, but lo and behold, I do not own any! YIKES! That just *will not* do! I need to make a road trip to my LSS! *giggle* Thanks for stopping by!

Recipe:

Stamps: Beautiful You by Verve
Paper: 5.5 x 5.5 embossed card from michael's, basic black and designer paper from the Stampin' Up! hostess level, whisper white
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: square punches, black half-back pearls (Michael's), square nestabilities, paper piercer, dimensionals, prima flower.
