Happy Birthday, Peggy!

Happy Hump Day! I got DH out the door and came to sit in my craft zone and get a challenge (or 7) done *wink* My card qualifies for the following challenges today:

...here is my cutie patootie birthday girl:

Stamps: Short & Sweet, Mimosa - Cupcake (Bildmalarna); Paper: Certainly Celery, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White; Ink: Versafine Black, Basic Black; Accessories: celery satin ribbon, button, linen thread, markers, white gel pen, dimensionals, oval punches, oval scallop punch, cuttlebug border embossers

The weather man says we are in a "winter storm warning" for our area and we can expect 12-15 cm of snow and/or rain today and tomorrow. I am hunkered down with candles lit, great tasting coffee and laundry has been started. I am hoping to be back later on today with more installments! My workshop has been postponed so I don't have to run out tonight...more time for stamping :) Yay me!! See you soon - stay warm!

Birthday Stamp-A-Stack Card #3

Happy Saturday! It's another bright, sunshiney day here in central Alberta...temps are supposed to reach 20C again today - time to dig out some shorts and flip flops. Yay! I just wish I felt 100% better and could enjoy the heat, but with a head cold, it's not really a lot of fun.

DH is going into town after a bit to do some errands, go to the chiro, etc., so I am going to get busy and get a few challenges done here in my craft room and I only have one more project to prepare for my monthy club get-together happening next Sunday! Yay me!! I am normally scrambling like crazy to get ready and I've gotten 3 classes ready to go all by myself! Love it!

OK..enough ramblin....here is the 3rd card we will be creating at this month's Stamp-A-Stack. It can be used for a Male, or Teen birthday and you could use it for ANY color combo:

Stamps: Vintage Labels (SAB); Paper: Soft Suede, Whisper White; Ink: Dusty Durango, Soft Suede; Accessories: large circle punch, scallop circle punch, soft suede ribbon, silver brads, embossing folder, dimensionals, clear blocks

This is a nice, clean, simple card that won't take the girls very long to pump out. I like the simplicity of cards like this - that still make a nice, bold statement!

I hope you have a chance to enjoy the wonderful sunshine today, wherever you are. Thanks for poppin' in to enjoy your morning coffee with me - I'll be back in a while! Bye!

Jen's SFYTT....Urban Garden style

My creative juices were coming to a quick halt earlier this evening, but then I realized (hit myself over the head) that I hadn't had supper yet!!! I was totally on a stamping roll and forgot all about eating. I made sure the kids ate and then snuck back in here to make more cards! LOL..Thanks, Melissa, for reminding me to EAT! HAHAHA...What are friends for hey?!?! I hopped on over to Jen's to see what sketch she had for us to try and ya know, these girls that make sketches for us, never cease to amaze me. How they come up with such great sketches each week is beyond me, but please, please, keep it up! They sure help!! Here is Jen's sketch:

Color Throwdown and Mojo Sketch Challenge

Good afternoon PEEPS!
We are experiencing high winds again today, but NUTHIN' like last night (insert wide eyes here). My good friend, Melissa, and I had to work Bingo last night and when we left the bingo hall, we didn't realize it would be THE MOST dangerous ride home we've ever experienced. We had 100 km/hr winds, along with flurries, and visibility was NEGATIVE. Melissa was my "ditch guide" and told me when I was getting too close to the right-hand ditch and there were a couple times we had to actually STOP right in the middle of the highway cuz I didn't have any bearings at all and couldn't see anything, not even the hood of my van :( What normally takes us about 1/2 hour to get home, took me 1.5 hours! I was never so happy to see my house and the chilled bottle of wine that I had in my fridge!!! LOL...I finally fell asleep around 2 a.m. I think...

So....onto today! I got up around 10:15 a.m. and started some coffee, and had my breakfast. I then got right to work baking gingersnaps and homemade buns. My son and Melissa's son are quite happy today (Sam spent the night last night) that I have decided to have a hunker-down-and-bake day :o) I am done all the baking for today and decided to sit and power stamp some cards out. I have a big craft sale on Thursday and Friday next week, so I need to pump out some serious cards here in the next few days. I am using my Bella's today along with Stampin' Up! sayings etc. I decided to take a stab at the Color Throwdown this week, and like Melissa, they are not colors I would ever think of trying to put together, but ya know...after I did this card, I don't mind the colors at all. So, it does pay to try a challenge here and there! I hope you enjoy the next few posts I have for you - I'll be crafting for the rest of the day/night....take care and happy stamping!

Tonight after running some errands in town, I got to sit down and make some much needed sympathy cards. I bought this cuttlebug folder a while ago and have been really wanting to try it on some sympathy cards. I think it turned out wonderfully. What do you think?

Pink Happy Birthday

I had fun making this one tonight! I used a Happy Birthday mini folder and placed it in the middle of my card front...then wasn't sure what to do with the sides! So, I used my Scor-Pal and made some boundary lines and filled those in with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I added my favorite touch to a card with the Ticket Corner Punch and then added some pink gingham and pink gems. Easy peesy! Thanks for stoppin' by....

Is this not the most elegant card you've seen?!? I CASE'd it from ncmorgan's gallery on SCS...CLICK HERE for original card.
