"Buddy Challenge" at ColorQ

Good afternoon! Wow, we've had quite the day here in central Alberta, CANADA! Winter has returned with a vengance! The blizzard conditions started out as rain last night near midnight and when we woke up, this is what we looked out to find:

NUTSO! DH stayed home from work and my Dad and his girlfriend were here from Vulcan, so they needed to head out in this to get back home! They made it back safe and sound, just took them an EXTRA long time to get there....The snow and nasty winds continued all afternoon until about 4 p.m. and it's calmed down somewhat now, but the aftermath of heavy, wet, icy snow has been left behind. The roads are not in good driving conditions and some of our trees were sure creakin' and crackin' due to the weight of the snow. Hopefully, this is our "usual" freak spring snow storm and summer will now come :)

Anyhewwwww...onto my card for today!! :) My good friend, Melissa, called me this afternoon (to tell me she made it home safe and sound) and she let me in on great challenge over at Arielle's ColorQ :) You are to find a "buddy" who wants to do the color challenge for this week and you do it together and mention each other in your blog post. So, I GLADLY took her up on that challenge - we have a chance to win some new ISLAND OASIS DP from Stampin' Up! Yeeehawww! Make sure you find a buddy and head on over and do the challenge! It's a great color combo this week:

I went in search of a sketch for my card and I immediately remembered the Mojo Monday blog! It had the "perfect" sketch for my colors:
...and here is my "challenge with a buddy" card created for both challenges:

Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Teeny Tiny Messages; Ink: none; Paper: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Brilliant Blue, Crushed Curry, Certainly Celery, Island Oasis DP; Accessories: markers, various embossing folders, scallop oval punch, oval punch, word window punch, ornament punch, dimensionals, paper piercer, pearls

Thanks, Melissa, for "challenging" me this afternoon - it was a lot of fun! Click on over HERE to check out Melissa's GAWWWWGUSSSSS card! I hope you all have a super Tuesday...stay warm wherever you are! LOL...not sure if I will be back this evening or not :) Hopefully YES! Happy Stamping!

Color Dare #63 - Mother's Day Card

Good morning crafters....I am not feeling a lot better, so I think I will try to get a doctor's appointment for this afternoon or tomorrow morning. I am starting to cough now and don't need it to be pneumonia. I am hoping it's just a sinus infection and that's it...we'll see I guess.

This morning I did a card using the following challenges:

1. Stampin' Royalty - "KISS" concept...Keep It Simple Sweetie
2. Crafty Creations Challenges - Limited Edition Challenge - 1 DP, 1 image and 1 embellishment
3. The Color Dare - color combo

Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers, Well Scripted; Paper: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise; Ink: Perfect Plum; Accessories: Top Note die, white satin ribbon, button, linen thread, markers (certainly celery, pale plum, perfect plum), embossing folder

I didn't use a DP but created my own with the embossing on the turquoise....I am limited on turquoise DP! :)

I hope you all have a fantastic HUMP DAY and I'll see ya around blog land....

Mother's Day frenzy cont.

Here's another card for Mother's Day. This one was fun to do too - I used my cuttlebug folder, Damask, and used markers on the stamp to get the color combo correctly.

What plans do you have for Mother's Day?

Mother's Day frenzy....

I have been "muckin' around" in my craft room today getting some supplies ready for a friend of mine to take out to a Hutterite Colony so that they can make Mother's Day cards with the young ones out there. I got all the supplies ready to go for her and then I decided "I" wanted to stamp something JUST CUZ....LOL...So, this is what I came up with - yep, all by myself this time! hee hee...that doesn't happen too terrible often. Usually I need a sketch or color challenge to get my 'ol brain goin....so here ya go....a start to some Mother's Day cards I will be showing this week. Happy Stampin' :)
