PPC - Color Challenge #6

Good morning....I actually slept in this morning - yahoooo! I normally try to get up with DH and help him get out the door (at 5:30 or 6 a.m.) but today I didn't even hear him get up! I just crawled out of bed a few minutes ago and started the coffee. So, while that brews, I figured I would put my card on here that I made last night.

Megan over at Picture Perfect Creations has a very interesting color challenge this week. I saw "boy" when I layed out my cardstock. I am having a Stamp-A-Stack at the end of April and we are going to use the Extreme Elements and Extreme Guitar for a "teen" birthday card. So, I decided last night to try a template out....I didn't follow a sketch challenge or anything, I just "wung it!"

** P.S. Don't forget...make sure you hop on over to Picture Perfect Creations and apply for their Design Team call! Time is running out.....

Stamps: Extreme Elements, Extreme Guitar, It's Your Birthday; Paper: Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Dusty Durango and Naturals White; Ink: Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Dusty Durango, Versamark, Basic Black; Accessories: Durango ribbon, black pearls, black embossing powder, dimensionals, sponge dauber

Today I am planning on making more cards. Each of my kids will have a friend here for the next couple days, so I will have a house full, but they will all be entertaining each other...right?!? :o)

I am going to run and put a roast in the crock pot so that supper is all done - I'll be back in a while! Ciao!

Shabby/Mojo/Paper Shop Monday

Happy Monday! We are in for a gorgeous day today here in central Alberta...the radio is saying we are to reach a high of 16C! Wowzas! Might just be able to pull out all the capri pants this week after all :o) I've been itchin to get out the flip flops too, but I know better that here in Alberta, we ALWAYS get a huge dump of snow before spring is *officially* here....

This morning Tamie is coming out to visit and craft with me! Not sure what we are going to do today - either crochet on our projects or make cards. I got up early with DH this morning, so figured I might as well get to work on a card right away....I hopped on over to Little Paper Shop and there was a nice color combo there from Allison:
Julee over at Mojo Monday has an awesome "round or square" challenge out there for us again this week...I chose "square"
and...over at the Shabby Tea Room, they want you to create a card using some scraps in your scrap box...I rummaged through there looking specifically for So Saffron, Chocolate and Kraft DP or scraps and I did find some...kind of a funny thing, cuz if I *didn't* have any scraps in my scrap box, it would be a miracle cuz I have a LARGE scrap box! LOL....

Here is my creation:

I have had these HILARIOUS stamps for a while now - wanting desperately to get 'em inky...well, this morning I decided was *the* day :o) Isn't she funny?!
I hope you all have a fantabulous "crafty" Monday! I know I will...with whatever we decide to do...yarn or paper crafting :o) TTFN!

Friday Installment #2

Well...let me tell you this....I had a LOT of fun making this next card! Coloring her was exciting...I got some stamps a while ago from Kraftin' Kimmie and they are sure adorable! I decided to use the new color challenge at The Play Date Cafe - GRRRREAT colors for this gal I chose! I used Bashful Blue, Razzleberry, and Going Gray.....

I decided to give the sketch challenge from Inspirational Card Sketches another go, except I flipped it this time to allow my image the room she needed! :)

And...over at KL Stampin N Scrappin Blog, their challenge this week was to use flowers and stitching (be it real or faux) and I faux stitched along the borders a bit...

and..............here is my girlie girl:

OMGOSH, doesn't she just make you *G-R-I-N?" when you look at her!?! I love all these girls/boys from her new line.
I hope you are having a fantastic Friday....I know I am! NO SCHOOL!! WAHOOO! I think I really needed a break from the homeschooling...whaddaya think?!? LOL...
Later crafters.....

Friday morning Mojo....

Good morning crafting PEEPS!! It's another overcast morning (with lightly falling snow) here in central Alberta but that's not gonna hinder my crafting Friday! My daughter is gone to a friends house today and my son has a friend over here - so the day is allllll mine! I gave them today off of school cuz Spring Break starts as of tomorrow and all their friends from their old school have a Professional Development Day, so, who wants to do school today?!? NOT ME!!!! HEE HEE....

I have had Samantha's color challenge (from Scrapmaster's Paradise) in my head for a few days now and to me, it screams MALE...I know, I know...there *is* pink in there, but what R-E-A-L man can't handle a wee bit of pink, right?!? *giggle, snort*

The gals over at Stamp With Us also have a "MALE CARDS" theme goin' on last week!

I then needed to find a sketch to do my colors justice, so I clicked over to Lord Have Mercy, and boy did Mercy have just *THE* perfect sketch for what I wanted to do.....

As soon as I saw Mercy's sketch, I ran and grabbed my Lovely as A Tree set and got to work....I hope you like it:

Stamps: Well Scripted, Lovely as a Tree; Ink: Really Rust, Chocolate Chip; Paper: Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White (for stamped image); Accessories: dimensionals, sponge dauber, choc chip ribbon, pearls
Today I plan on crafting, crafting, crafting!! I'm going to run and put a crock pot on for supper and then I'll be back to make another creation with some rockin' challenges! TTFN!!

Color Throwdown #85

Good morning from a blustery, chilly central Alberta. The wind howled all night therefore, I did not get much sleep. Unfortunately, I do not sleep well when it's windy - not sure why, but that's the way it is. I got up with DH this morning to get a start on a card so that I wouldn't lose my MOJO later on! LOL...I hopped on over to The Color Throwdown to find a cheery, bright combo:

Then I clicked over at Inspirational Card Sketches to see what sketch I could use with those colors. As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew *exactly* what stamp I was using. Remember when I told you I won a $25 gift certificate to the Verve store? Well...the stamp I used on my card is one in a set that chose towards my $25! It's a lot of fun too!!!

Voila!! Here is my creation:

I totally love how the Baja looks sponged onto the stamped image. I'm sure glad that I kept my inks from last year's In Colors!
Well, I hope you have a fantastic Thursday today - I've got a Stamp-A-Stack class that I have to plan for so I am not sure I'll be back with another installment or not. Depends how the day goes - maybe, just *maybe* I can sneak a nap in later?!? Probably not with schooling the kids, but one never knows! Take care!
Happy stamping!

Hump Day combo challenge

I really didn't think I would be able to pull off a card tonight - Melissa and I went back to the gym again today and I was sure tired after!!! Gotta get prepared for Boot Camp (starts beginning of May) DH made it home around 7, so I was thinking I would be doing an early mojo crafting session instead of tonight - but ...lo and behold...I pulled it off - I found some mojo in me and came up with a cutie-patootie card with 4 challenges tonight:

1. Diva Coffee Break Designs - color challenge: 2. All That Scraps - sketch challenge (and use an image that is sold in their store):

3. Stampin' Royalty - get GLITTER happy :)

4. Flutter by Wednesday's - open challenge but include either a butterfly, fairy or angel

Here's my card using all 4 challenges:

...isn't she just the cuuuuutest nursie you've evah seen??!? tee hee...I love these cutie patootie girlies....hope you enjoyed my installment tonight - thanks for poppin' in and we'll see you tomorrow! Sleep tight!

*one* of my other addictions....

Happy HUMP Day fellow crafting PEEPS! Well, I was sure hoping for a sun-filled day, but alas, we got a snow-filled day...it's been snowing all day. I have candles lit, laundry on the go, kids are doing school work and I just wanted to share with you what else I have been "creating." This project is for my cutie-patootie niece, Bailey Isabella....her room is done up in the same colors as Bella Rose designer paper :o)

This is another one of my "addictions" when color is concerned....LOL...

When I asked Miss B what size she wanted for a blanket, her reply was "Aunty, I want a HUGE one!" LOL..I'm making this for a single bed so that she can either put it on top of her quilt &/or she can snuggle with it on the couch....I will post pic's again showing my progress! Hope you like it...
I *might* be back later on this evening...DH is scheduled to be home tonight so I'm not sure whether or not I'll have time for crafting. Hope you are all having a fantabulous Wednesday!

Tuesday night 8-in-1 - wowza's!!!

Good evening...I had every intention of crawling into bed *early* tonight and reading my book, however, there were some blog challenges calling out to me and the ideas were floating around in my head while I was crocheting on my niece's afghan tonight. So...I *had* to come and get them outta my head or I probably won't be able to sleep tonight LOL....I combined 8...yep, count 'em...8! challenges onto this card - another Easter card..go figure hey?! That is what the majority of the blog challenges are these days, so it makes it a bit easier LOL....

1. Our Creative Corner - "Spring/Easter" theme
2. Crazy 4 Challenges - "Spring" theme
3. Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog - "Spring is in the Air" and we can interpret that how we wish
4. Creative Card Crew - "Going Dotty" (I used the dots embossing folder and created dots and dashes with my marker and pearls :o)
5. Paper Sundaes - "paper piecing" (I pieced the egg with pretty in pink paper)
6. The Corrosive Challenge Blog - "paper piecing"
7. Picture Perfect Creations - color combo of Eggplant, Saffron and Pretty in Pink:

8. Little Paper Shop: very interesting sketch challenge:

and...here is my card made with all 8 challenges:

Stamps: A Good Egg, Well Scripted; Paper: Whisper White, Eggplant, So Saffron DP, Pretty in Pink; Ink: Basic Black; Accessories: pearls, marker (eggplant), dimensionals, dots embossing folder, nesties, pretty in pink satin ribbon, button, linen thread

Surprisingly enough, this card came together rather quickly for me! Thanks everyone for such awesome challenges this week! I love Spring and it sure makes it easy to create wonderful projects with all the gorgeous colors and "events" that happen during this magical time. I'm off to bed - hope you all had a fabulous Tuesday! Happy crafting!!

Late night birthday CASE....

Hello again! The kids and I had such a relaxing, fun day with Tamie and her kids...they all played very well together and we got quite a bit of blog surfin' and crocheting done :o) Tamie showed me a few "tips and tricks" and I showed her a few "tips and tricks" and we were "ooohhhh'n and ahhhh'n" over a lot of gorgeous blogs and all the wonderful talent out there in crafting blogland!

A friend of mine requested a "special" birthday card for the love of his life and she is totally a horse lover, so I *knew* exactly which card I wanted to attempt to make. It was one that Tamie had done for her son's 13th birthday back in January. So while I was at her house today I asked her if I could totally CASE the card and she didn't mind at all. Click HERE to see Tamie's original. I did a bit of masking on the horses so that I could add some trees in the background, moved my sentiment and added some ribbon and a bow. I hope he likes it. I have loved this card since I saw Tamie's creation and I've wanted to make some ever since. This gave me a great excuse!

The gals over at Totally Stampalicious have a challenge out this week to use ribbons and polka dots - so I guess this card qualifies!! Yay!

Stamps: Bareback, Lovely as a Tree, Well Scripted; Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Night and Day DP; Ink: Always Artichoke, Versafine Black; Accessories: top note die, polka dot embossing folder, satin ribbon, dimensionals, button, linen thread, pearls

Let me know what you think! I sure appreciate all the wonderful comments! Hugs!

Monday morning mojo.....

Good Monday morning! It's chilly and WHITE again here in central Alberta. I woke up at 3 a.m. to a good howling wind and snow blowing like crazy...typical spring storm here :o) DH had to leave today for Lloydminster so I got up and got him out the door and sat down with a strong cup of java to scope out some challenges.....

I promptly went over to The Shabby Tea Room to see what they had in store for us this week and they want us to create a "spring-themed" card/creation.

I hopped over to see what sketch was at Mojo Monday and Sarah put up a very cool, interesting one this week! I love it!! Here it is: ..and I remembered this *challenging* color combo from Stacey over at Stacey's Stamping Stage and I knew i could come up with something "spring-ish" from that!!! RIGHT?!?

I must admit, I struggled with the color placement with those colors. I took the yellow out, put the yellow in....took the red out, put the red in, took the polka dots out, put them in....LOL...I *think* I did ok with all of the challenges this morning - I really enjoy the final card....hope you do too!

Voila! There she be....

Stamps: Circle Circus, Well Scripted; Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Pink Passion, Whisper White, Night and Day DP; Ink: Pixie Pink, Yo-Yo Yellow, Basic Black, Real Red; Accessories: Real Red satin ribbon, button, hemp twine, sponge dauber, pearls, nesties

Alright...well, I decided to give the kids the rest of the day off of school today - Tamie's kids are home today from a Professional Development Day, so we're gonna head up there and have a visit and some supper! Yay!! The kids are so pumped! :o) I will be back later on tonight - I have a special birthday card I need to make for a customer, so until then, happy craftin'!! :)

Good afternoon all you PEEPS out in blogland...HAPPY FRIDAY!! How's the weather in your neck of the woods? It is chilly, but sunshiny out there today in central Alberta. I'm excited - they are gonna LOOOVVVE the projects this month - a lot of new things to teach them! YAY!

Should be a lot of fun - we're so proud of her and what she's accomplished over the last year with swimming! She's done so well!

That's probably going to be it for me until after the weekend...we'll see. DH is home this weekend, and I'm busy tomorrow and then Sunday is our stamping group get-together. All my stuff is packed up and ready to go, so I will probably pop back in on Monday morning!!! One just never knows though, what will happen, right?!? *wink*

A FUN Color Dare!

Wow, I am having SEVERE internet issues tonight- UGH! This is the 4th time I've tried to post my card tonight - so I'm really hoping things go through this time...

So....a good friend of mine, Diana, knows a couple of "popular gals" in the crafting blogland. Joycelyn and Rebeccah from Totally Stampalicious are very good friends with my good friend, Diana - they grew up together or went to school together!!! How C-O-O-L is THAT?! What a small world hey?! I bought a couple of stamp sets off of Diana that she was trying to market for Joycelyn and Rebeccah and came RUNNING home right away and got to work making a creation with one!!! I jumped on over to The Color Dare challenge blog and found the PERFECT color combination to use with this stamp!

Isn't he just the BESTEST?!?! OMG...I totally *heart* him! hahahaha...a perfecto man card! :) I will definitely be making more of these awesome dudes!

I sure hope you had a good day today - I'm ready for bed - my DH is home and I did NOT sleep well last night due to the high winds and bad dreams :(

Have a super dooooper night and we'll catch ya on the flip side tomorrow morning!!! NIGHT!!

I've got 2 items to show you so far...I have one more thing to prep yet - an Easter card. I will try and have that on for you a bit later :)

The first project we will be making is using the new mini milk carton Bigz Die and decorated with the new Eggcoutrements stamp set. I put Easter colored M & M's inside - YUMMO!

The second project is the scrapbook/calendar pages....this is our perpetual "pocket" calendar to hold all your cards for each month. I totally *heart* how this turned out! Thanks, Melissa, for all your creativity on this one!

Windy Thursday....

Good morning everyone! Wow, is it EVER windy here in central Alberta - it kept me up a lot of the night :( I really wish I could sleep when it's that windy, but nope, can't. Oh well...I got up this morning, made some STRONG coffee and got to work on a couple challenges: I did the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge and over at Papertake Weekly they wanted us to use Lilac and Lemon for a color challenge.....

....here is my card using both challenges this morning:

Stamps: Circle Circus, Vintage Labels; Paper: Whisper White, Lovely Lilac, Summer Sun; Ink: Summer Sun, Lovely Lilac, Basic Black; Accessories: embossing folders, nesties, dimensionals, white organza ribbon, pearls

Card Challenge with Tamie

I am baaaack! It's pretty late, but I got 'er done! I challenged Tamie to a card creating night....it's taken me a lot longer than anticipated, but I talked to an old friend on the phone for a while, did laundry in between creating, and ran into a few "color blockages" with this challenge, but I really like how the final product turned out!

I used the exciting color challenge from Color Throwdown and the wonderful sketch challenge from Stampin' Royalty:

...and here is my cute moosie holding some very "yummylicious" cupcakes!!!

I hope you enjoy him as much as I did making it! I'm off to bed - wayyyy past my bedtime!! I'll see you back here tomorrow! Thanks for stoppin' in - happy stamping!!

"Oh, what a day!!"

Happy HUMP Day *and* St. Patrick's Day!! I had such a wonderful day today. My good friend, Tamie, and I headed out to do a shopping excursion to Red Deer! We don't get these opportunities very often anymore so we jumped at the chance. We hit Scrapbooker's Paradise (yep, Laura, from Flourishes was working today!! however....all her gorgeous stamp sets were gone *sniff*), Costco, Chapters, Nutter's and Wal-Mart. It felt great to stock up on canned goods again (gotta love Costco). I came home, unloaded and unpacked (my kids did that part for me - thanks kids!!) and I put everything away in cupboards/freezers/fridge while I brewed myself a wonderful cup of coffee to have while crafting this afternoon.

I sat down this afternoon and took a look at some challenges I could do:

1. Picture Perfect Creations has a wonderful color challenge for us this week (and don't forget to hop on over and apply for her DT call! The deadline is approaching fast!!!)

2. The gals over at Diva Coffee Break Designs has a great sketch for us:

3. Crafty Creations Challenges wants us to use "Spots and Dots" on our cards - I used the swiss dots cuttlebug folder and there are dots on the frame....

4. Creative Card Crew's challenge this week is "Going Dotty" as well...yay!! :o)

........and here is my card combining all 4:

Stamps: Frames with a Flourish, Best Yet; Paper: Not Quite Navy, Lavendar Lace, Whisper White; Ink: Not Quite Navy and Lavendar Lace; Accessories: embossing folders, pearls, organza ribbon, dimensionals, nesties

I *just* realized that I forgot to put my watermark on my card....GEESH! LOL...oh well, I'm leaving it this time HEE HEE....I'm supposed to be preparing for my stamp club this weekend but I think I'll be back with another creation tonight first *wink* ta-ta for now!!

Another Monday installment....

Hello again! I had a super day today - the kids got a lot of school work done and I got some laundry tackled, went outside and enjoyed some wonderful sunshine while cleaning up the yard a bit, finished book #2 in my series I'm reading, crocheted on an unfinished project :) and made a yummy roast beef, potatoes and mixed veggies supper mmmmmmm!

Tonight I decided to sneak one more card in before I go sit and crochet for a while and then continue on the series with book #3! :o) I hopped on over to Debbie's first challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room - and awaiting me there was a wonderful inspirational color challenge of pink, red, brown and green. Sounded easy enough so I needed a sketch....I clicked over to 2 Sketches 4 You and found a very interesting sketch challenge for us - thanks Kazan!! Over at Pile it On, they wanted us to use pastels...so I already had Pretty in Pink picked out for one of my colors so that was good! Away I went and got to work....I used the wonderful Trendy Trees set for this card - I hope you like it!!

and here is my 5.25 x 5.25 card - I really enjoyed stamping these trees - it's a super versatile set with endless possibilities! They are so cute....
Thanks for stopping in tonight! I hope you had a fantabulous Monday full of creativity and smiles! See you tomorrow!
