Top Tip Tuesday {It's All About Hair!}

This week at Top Tip Tuesday, the challenge is all about HAIR. We want to see your very best hair coloring. I have to admit right off the get-go that hair is NOT my strong point when it comes to coloring. I am still practicing my "flicks" and learning where the shading and shadows are etc., so this was a definite challenge for me! Thanks, ladies!

Before I get to the challenge this week, I just wanted to mention that Top Tip Tuesday is having a DT CALL! Click HERE for more details!

 It's all about the Hair colour!

Our sponsor this week is The East Wind who are offering a 3 images to their store for the lucky winner:

I decided to use one of my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps for this card as there is not a lot of hair....it's manageable for me! Ha! The sentiment is from an assorted sentiments set from Your Next Stamp.

My TIP or advice for anyone who struggles with coloring is just keep practicing and watch a ton of YouTube videos! LOL....that's what I do ;)

Thanks for taking the time to pop in and see what I was up to...be sure to click on over to the TTT challenge blog HERE to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Design Team! You will not be disappointed! We would love to see your best hair coloring project so be sure to link up with us....happy coloring!

Anything Goes at The Pink Elephant!

Hello again...welcome back to my blog!

It's the last Monday of May....so you know what that means, right? The last Monday of every month is ANYTHING GOES at The Pink Elephant! Woot! Woot!

I put an order in at Your Next Stamp a few weeks ago and I just have to say - their stamps are just so much fun!! I loved coloring up this little guy....and the sentiments are pretty cute too - here's the inside of my card:

I used their wonderful sketch from a couple weeks ago - I took the liberty of rotating the sketch to make it work with my image.  I was too late to enter it into their challenge but that's ok - I loved the sketch:

Come on over to The Pink Elephant challenge blog and check out what the rest of Ella's girls are up to - you will NOT be disappointed! Happy crafting!

Merry Monday #160 {Newsprint}

Hello everyone! Here we are at the start of another week and the hostess is Karren this week over at Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge - check out her theme this week:

This card literally took me about 10 mins from start to finish! I let all the paper do the work and then added a pop'd up die cut for my sentiment. Done. I love CAS cards like this sometimes - feels great to get them done without stress! LOL...Thanks for the wonderful challenge miss Karren!

Do you have some designer paper in your stash with newsprint on it? You do?! Well then get in your craft room, and get creative with us this week for your chance at a Guest Designer spot! We'd love to have you! Happy crafting!

4 CC #247 {Sympathy}

This week at 4 Crafty Chicks, Tamie is our challenge leader and she's calling out for sympathy cards. They are probably one of the hardest cards for me to make. I wanted mine to have a pop of color so I decided to ink up a background stamp with Calypso Coral, stamp it off once, then stamp it on my cardstock for that added pop. I don't feel that sympathy cards need to be all dark, and gloomy. A touch of color is nice sometimes!

Thanks for popping in to see what I was up to - hop on over now to the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge blog and link up your sympathy card for us to see. We'd love to have you! Cheers!

Celebrate Today at The Pink Elephant!

Welcome back to my blog :)

This week at The Pink Elephant, Ella is in search of some GRADUATION cards/projects! For some odd reason, I really find Grad cards difficult. I just never know what to put on them for decorating etc. This Bugaboo image made this CAS card come together pretty quick however!

I have a Graduation ceremony to attend in a couple weeks, myself - our son is graduating June 5th and 6th! I *seriously* cannot believe time has flown by as fast as it has! I will be sure to post pics of his special day!

I am entering my card into the Curtain Call's challenge: "Totally Tassel"

Be sure to hop on over to The Pink Elephant challenge blog HERE to link up your GRADUATION card/project for us this week - we'd love to have you! Happy crafting!

Merry Monday #159 {Non-Evergreen Tree}

Happy "Merry Monday," folks!

This week over at Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge, we are looking for cards with trees that are NOT evergreens! Awesome challenge, Debbie!!

For my card this week, I let my designer paper do the work for me...how lucky was I that this gorgeous tree was in a 6 x 6 pack of Christmas paper?!? The only thing I added was the Christmas die cut and some wooden pearls in the corners....wa-laaa! I am assuming that it's a pear tree since there is 1 partridge in it?? LOL...I'm going with that hahahaa

Come and see what the rest of the Merry Makers have created just for you! Then, be sure to link up your card so we can come visit your blog and leave you some love! You also have the chance to be our guest designer if your card is chosen as the winner! Whoop!! Happy crafting!

Craft Room Tour with The Pink Elephant!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the third week of sharing crafty spaces at The Pink Elephant! So far Sheri and Natasha have shown you their creative spaces and let me just say that I am totally loving seeing Ella's girls craft rooms! I love getting new ideas and getting inspired :)

I have had the last two months off from crafting as I was working at our local accounting firm preparing income taxes and let me tell ya - I had to do a MAJOR overhaul of my room before I even *dreamed* of taking any pics! But, that is a good thing - it got my room cleaned and organized!! Yay!

I am also a lucky girl to be able to have one whole room for crafting in - but it's also my business office too. One side is designated crafty area and one side is our business office. Works pretty good! So first off, I have all my Stampin' Up! inks/markers/re-inkers stored in a wonderful wall unit that my Dad builds....he's a genius! He also built my copic marker holder which you will see momentarily! He has a link on my blog if you are at all interested ;) And I also store buttons in jars on top of it. Under my printer area is where I store all of my 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock - both drawers are labelled with Stampin' Up! color file folders.

Then there is my computer/copics/washi tape area - the "colorful area" lol...

I also have a white 5-drawer unit I purchased from IKEA under my desk that holds adhesives, acrylic blocks/distress inks, heat gun, baby wipes, embossing powders, glue gun, and bottom drawer is my camera and other electronics.

Then, to the right of my desk is my stamp storage cupboards (all Stampin' Up! stamps and boxes of cards are stored in the upper IKEA cabinets) along with some other miscellaneous things (copic refills/etc.) In the lower IKEA shelf there are my wonderfully organized clear stamps (Jennifer McGuire style), my ribbon, embossing folders/dies (Jennifer McGuire style), other embossing/dies from Stampin' Up and in the baskets below, I store my felt, flowers, card kits and extra paper cutters.

My closet is sort of a "catch-all" for various things. I store extra yarn in there, the wonderful white cabinet is actually a storage unit for 12 x 12 papers made by my wonderful friend, Brian Elliott (Leanne's hubby!) On the shelves I store my idea books, other crafts I want to do and the top shelf is all my scrapbooking paraphernalia.

The tall 9-drawer unit is also from IKEA and that's where I store all my punches. I absolutely LOVE
this drawer unit!! The top 2 drawers I have sequins and other embellies!
Well...there ya have it folks! This is where I get crafty. I am still in the process of decorating and I would love to put some cabinets up (or shelves) directly above my computer monitor. So...still a work in progress!! Thanks for stopping in!! xoxoxo

4 CC #246 {Chevrons!}

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday everyone! Before I get to our challenge, I would like to personally thank my teammies (Rhonda, that means you too!!) here in the HENHOUSE for covering my commenting, posting etc. while I was on my crafty hiatus! It meant a lot that I was able to just focus on work and not have to feel guilty for not getting to my DT assignments while I was stressing over tax returns...or falling asleep at 8 p.m. LOL....again, HUGE THANKS!!

This week, miss Tina is our hostess extraordinaire and she's looking for us to use CHEVRONS:

4 CC #246 {Chevrons}

I had a lot of fun with this card, but I'm sure I didn't have to tell you that - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these images from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps! Too fun :)

This one is called "Bathtime Deirdery" and it's a pre-colored digi. They have a few pre-colored ones which are nice when you are in need of an image quick! Hope you enjoy her as much as I do!

Hop on over to the 4 Crafty Chicks blog and see what the rest of my fellow CHICKS have created for you - chevrons are HOT this week in the HENHOUSE! Would you like to come play along with us for a month in June, July or August!? We have extended our Guest Designer Team Call for another week - so be sure to check out all the details! Cheers!

Going "Animalistic" at Top Tip Tuesday!

Happy "Top Tip" Tuesday everyone! I am very excited and honored to be a part of the wonderful creative team over at Top Tip Tuesday once again! Thanks, Samantha, for asking me back :) TTT runs 2-week challenges that offer wonderful crafting tips and/or tutorials with each challenge! Come check us out....

This week, our theme challenge is ANIMALS and our wonderful sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs. Be sure to pop on over and check them out! I did not get the chance to create a card using one of their wonderfully CUTE designs, but I am for sure going to go check them out and I encourage you to do the same! They have some wonderful images!

For my card, I had this image already printed out from Sassy Cheryl's Stamps - it's a pre-colored digi that I added some blue copic color around the outside to make the image POP off the white cardstock! This little puppy is so totally adorable - I just had to use it for this challenge. He's so curious LOL....

Thank you so much for stopping in today - be sure to check out the rest of the super talented DT here:

The Pink Elephant #298 - Fitness Level

Welcome back to my blog to see what else I've been up to....shannanigans, that's what! LOL...I couldn't help get a little sassy this week with The Pink Elephant's "inspiration photo" challenge:

mmmm...don't they look scrumptious? I was scrolling through my Bugaboo stamps and I came across this Stella and I just could NOT resist using her:

Stella totally cracks me up! I can just "hear" her saying it too...lol....come on over to the challenge blog and play along with Ella and the girls for this week's "ooooey, gooey, yummalicious" inspiration challenge! We'd love to see what you come up with :) Happy crafting!

Merry Monday #158 {Use a Stencil}

Happy Merry Monday!!

No, you are not imagining things - I am back! Sorry that it's been a day or two, but tax season consumed me and I was not able to keep up with all things crafty LOL....thank you to all my DT's for being so patient with me and filling in for me while I was away! I sure appreciate it.

This week at Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge, miss Deanne is our wonderful hostess and she's wanting us to dig out those stencils and get creative:

I had to really dig through my drawers of "possibles" but alas, I found my polka dot stencil from Heidi Swapp that I bought ages ago. I dug out the Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green ink pads and some sponge daubers and got to work filling in polka dot holes:

Are you in need of Christmas cards for this year?! Come on over and check us out each Monday - make a card with our current challenge and wa-laaaa! You will have a stash all ready for the hectic, crazy season this year....we'd love to have you. Click HERE to take you to the challenge blog.

Make sure you check out each and every AMAZING project by our Merry Makers - they've totally knocked this challenge out the park! WTG, girls.....stay tuned for another installment from The Pink Elephant, coming up in about 3 hours! Cheers!
