4 CC #313 {A Little Sentimental} & AYLI #87 {Favorite Card Shape}

Hello everyone! It's hard to believe that the summer holidays are almost over and Kim will be heading back to school in a few days for her last year of high school....where did the time go? I was just sending her off to Kindergarten!! Time sure flies....

This week, I am combining 2 challenges - one for 4 Crafty Chicks and one for As You Like It.

This week at 4 Crafty Chicks, it is my turn to be the challenge hostess and my challenge this week is a pretty simple one - use a sentiment on your card :) Easy peesy, right?!

4 CC #313 {Let's Get Sentimental}

The challenge over at As You Like It is to showcase a project using
your Favourite Shape or Standard cardbase (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

The sponsor of this challenge is
$10.00

And here is my card combining the 2 challenges:

For my card this week, I used this cutie patootie from Sassy Cheryl's - embossed the teal layer and added some gumdrops and my HELLO sentiment - done! Easy peesy!

I would like to enter this card into the Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday challenge :)

Be sure to hop on over to the hen house and see what the rest of the Chicks have created for you - you will not be disappointed! Cheers!

"fur-ever friends" AYLI #73

Welcome back to my blog everyone! For the next 2 weeks over at As You Like It challenge blog, the challenge is the following

The sponsor of this challenge is
$10.00

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your
 Favourite Card Shape or Fold (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

I prefer the everyday folds on cards but this one I wanted to showcase to you all. Isn't it fun? The 2 pieces are held together with your front image panel - and the possibilities for this are endless! I don't normally venture too far away from the regular A2 cards - once in a while I will do a funky shaped/folded card but not very often....

Here's a close up of the cutie patootie "Thick as Thieves" image from Cheryl Alger at Sassy Cheryl's

Come on over to the AYLI challenge blog HERE and link up your favorite fold card for us! Happy stamping!

Merry Monday #162 {Use a Tag on a Card}

Happy "Merry Monday!" We are nearing the half-way point of the year and I am just gonna throw this question out there....are you gonna have enough Christmas cards ready to go by December? NO?! Well, what are you waiting for? Come on over and join us - each Monday - you'd have a card done each week!

This week over at Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge, our challenge hostess is Kristie and she's issuing the following challenge:

I have had this cute image from Sassy Cheryl's printed off for a while and was just waiting for "the perfect" challenge to use him in....I found it! I used my Paper Smooches large tag die and cut him out, then mounted him on fun foam and cut him out! SO FUN!! You can't see it in the pic but I added some Wink of Stella along the snow line and on his body .....

I thought this would be a super fun card to attach to a "snowman kit" gift for my nieces and nephew for Christmas this year ;)

Thanks for the awesome challenge, Kristie! Come on over to the challenge blog and play along with us - you have a chance at being a Guest Designer for us if your card is chosen as the TOP PICK! Happy crafting!

Going "Animalistic" at Top Tip Tuesday!

Happy "Top Tip" Tuesday everyone! I am very excited and honored to be a part of the wonderful creative team over at Top Tip Tuesday once again! Thanks, Samantha, for asking me back :) TTT runs 2-week challenges that offer wonderful crafting tips and/or tutorials with each challenge! Come check us out....

This week, our theme challenge is ANIMALS and our wonderful sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs. Be sure to pop on over and check them out! I did not get the chance to create a card using one of their wonderfully CUTE designs, but I am for sure going to go check them out and I encourage you to do the same! They have some wonderful images!

For my card, I had this image already printed out from Sassy Cheryl's Stamps - it's a pre-colored digi that I added some blue copic color around the outside to make the image POP off the white cardstock! This little puppy is so totally adorable - I just had to use it for this challenge. He's so curious LOL....

Thank you so much for stopping in today - be sure to check out the rest of the super talented DT here:

Merry Monday #103 {Use a Snowman!}

Welcome back to my blog and to another challenge at Merry Monday! This is the challenge all about Christmas cards and getting a head start on the Christmas season. This week's challenge was chosen by Kathy. You are to create a project which includes a "Snowman" somewhere on your Christmas card!

Here is my card with a few snowmen on it *wink* Most of my crafty friends know that I am totally ADDICTED to snowmen (and snowflakes, and stars.....and.....)

This cute image is a Cheryl Alger digi called "Hanging Stars" and I absolutely love coloring these fun dudes :) I colored them up with bright Copic markers, added some Paper Smooches snowflake dies and my fun die cut arrow from Reverse Confetti! The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink - I love this font!

I am also entering my card into the following challenges:

Completely Christmas - Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge - D is for diecuts
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long - Anything Goes - Lots of Layers!
Just Add Ink - Lots of Layers!
QKR Stampede - Recipe challenge: 1 image; 2 papers; 3 embellies (I used button, gems and die cuts)
Crimbo Crackers - Anything Goes: Christmas!

Thanks again for visiting my blog to see what I've been up to! Stay tuned for another installment from The Pink Elephant ;) Cheers!

Exciting "Merry Monday" News!!

Happy Monday!!

I am so excited to share with you that Lesley has chosen me to be part of the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Design Team!! I am so honored to be able to design with this wonderful group of super-talented ladies!! Can you say E-X-C-I-T-E-D?!?! Now I will have NO EXCUSES come Christmas this year - I will have cards ready! Bonus! Thank you so much, Lesley!! xoxoxo

New DT Badge for your Blog

The challenge this week is, of course, a Christmas card, but has to include an ornament(s).

I found this ornament paper (right side panel) and I was so excited to use it - but after my image was colored and mounted on the brown, it covers up so many ornaments on the layer....I didn't want to start over, so I just made sure to show you a couple ornaments near the bottom of the card ;)

Check out the Merry Monday Challenge blog for more festive inspiration from the rest of the team...you will not be disappointed! Thanks for stopping by!

Have a very Merry Monday! xoxoxox

i {heart} sketches and Anything Goes at Kraftin' Kimmie!

Happy Tuesday! I am so thankful to be back home and in my craft room this afternoon! The drive into school this morning was NOT FUN...and it's still snowing and the wind has picked up. There are tow-advisory warnings out for our major highways and night schools are cancelling classes for tonight. Great day to stay in and get inky.....

Kraftin' Kimmie has issued an ANYTHING GOES challenge using one of her stamps so I decided to use this image that my daughter colored up a few days ago. I added the blue outline and ground color (and after this post went live and I was re-reading it, I realize I should have made it SNOW on the ground, not dirt...oh well - there's just no snow there yet ;) YEESH!! Sorry!) but she did the rest - I think I might be fighting her for my copic markers here shortly ;)

I went in search of a sketch to use for my card and came across this PERFECT one over at i {heart} sketches:

And here is the complete card:

On my way home this morning, I stopped at the mailbox (and trudged through knee-deep snow to get there) and I was so giddy to find a goodie package from Lil' Inker Designs - and I promptly used my new stitched squares dies on my image!! Love these!!

 I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps - Winter/Cold Weather
Creative Card Crew - Pearls

Thanks for stopping in today - I am off to get some housework done and then need to venture out again to pick up my daughter from her swim club - unless they cancel swimming today ;)
