You Make a Good Day, GREAT!

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday!

This week, miss Leanne is our challenge hostess and we are also welcoming Danielle Vincent from D's Crafty Connection to the Hen House as our March Guest Designer. Welcome, Danielle!

Now before I get to our challenge this week, I need to tell a little story about it. Over the many, many years that I have known Leanne, she has always made it very clear that she dislikes the color green. However, over the last couple years we have teased her here and there whenever she needs to use green for a challenge because she rocks out such amazing creations using green....and now this week, guess what she chose as a theme?!? You got it....

4 CC #340 GREEN

For my card, I used green as an accent color - the birdies, her flower in her hair and some background paper...I am not a HUGE fan of green but I like the teal greens, and olive country green colors! Thanks for the challenge Leanne!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafting with an Attitude - Anything Goes
Crafty Girls Creations - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Crafting by Designs - Anything Goes
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping in today and please check out what the rest of the Chicks have in store for you using Leanne's theme for this week:

as you like it #72 {have a sweet day!}

 The challenge for the next 2 weeks over at As You Like It is your favorite one or multi layer card....are you a simple one layer card maker or do you prefer to add a few more layers for dimension?!

Before I get to my project, here is a word about our wonderful sponsor:

The sponsor of this challenge is

Crafts U Love
£10 voucher

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favorite One or Multi Layer Project (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

One layer cards usually make me hyperventilate if I have to make them and although I did pretty good on Monday with my Christmas Tree card (for Merry Monday - scroll down if you would like to see it) I still prefer, or tend to make, cards with more than one layer. I feel they add dimension and you can use many different dies and embellishment opportunities with more layers ;)

I hope you get a chance to come and get crafty with us - come on over to As You Like It HERE and see what the rest of my amazingly talented teammies have come up with!! Happy crafting!

Top Tip Tuesday {It's All About Hair!}

This week at Top Tip Tuesday, the challenge is all about HAIR. We want to see your very best hair coloring. I have to admit right off the get-go that hair is NOT my strong point when it comes to coloring. I am still practicing my "flicks" and learning where the shading and shadows are etc., so this was a definite challenge for me! Thanks, ladies!

Before I get to the challenge this week, I just wanted to mention that Top Tip Tuesday is having a DT CALL! Click HERE for more details!

 It's all about the Hair colour!

Our sponsor this week is The East Wind who are offering a 3 images to their store for the lucky winner:

I decided to use one of my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps for this card as there is not a lot of hair....it's manageable for me! Ha! The sentiment is from an assorted sentiments set from Your Next Stamp.

My TIP or advice for anyone who struggles with coloring is just keep practicing and watch a ton of YouTube videos! LOL....that's what I do ;)

Thanks for taking the time to pop in and see what I was up to...be sure to click on over to the TTT challenge blog HERE to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Design Team! You will not be disappointed! We would love to see your best hair coloring project so be sure to link up with us....happy coloring!

4 CC #237 {Cabin Fever}

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday everyone! Well, I am not sure about you guys, but I think the theme for this week couldn't come at a better time...miss Tina is our hostess and she is throwing the task out there to create something related to CABIN FEVER. By now, everyone's probably really wanting Spring to come and bring with it the warm temps, green grass and fresh air! This challenge was perfect!

I colored up my Deacon from Bugaboo Stamps and was picturing him out on a gorgeous Spring day, enjoying the warmth of the sunshine, the sweet chirping of birds and a warm, gentle breeze.....ahhhh...sounds blissful doesn't it?!? The sentiment is from a Kraftin' Kimmie set.

Truth be told, I love Winter LOL....it's my "hunker-down and slow down" time of year. I get a lot of other crafty projects done too (crochet, cross stitch etc.) But, I really do love a warm, Spring day - so this was an easy challenge for me!

Let's see what you come up with - click HERE to link up your project!! Happy crafting!

Merry Monday #148 {Red & Green!}

Life has been very hectic and busy for me the past couple weeks with starting back to work after being at home for 18+ years (minus a few in there when I was an EA and Playschool teacher at our country school), volleyball with Kim, swimming with Kim, Grad stuff for Calvin, and then just everyday life stuff on top! LOL...and I can honestly say I am super dooper tired and exhausted but liking it at the same time :) So, that's a good sign...preparing tax returns has proven to be an extreme learning curve for me but I am starting to settle into it and enjoy it! Yay!

OK...onto this week's challenge from miss Deanne over at Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge!

I knew right away when I was coloring up images a few months ago to get ahead of the game, that this image from Kraftin' Kimmie was perfect for Deanne's challenge of RED and GREEN:

Are you wanting to be ready with Christmas cards when the holidays come? Always scrambling at the last minute to get cards done? Well...what are you waiting for? Come join us each week and be ahead of the game :) Click HERE for more info! Cheers....

For my card this week, I decided to go with the red/pink/white color combination and color up this cutie from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps:

I added some deep red chevrons behind the image panel using MFT chevron dienamics and then popped up the sentiment inked with red. So adorable she is :)

Please come on over to The Pink Elephant challenge blog and see what Ella's girls have created using this gorgeous inspirational photo as their starting point. These girls never cease to amaze me! Recipe Challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday everyone! I hope everyone is doing well these days....I have been super busy this past week getting stuff ready outside to have our house re-sided! The very large deck we had on the house had to come down - so we disassembled it piece by piece (board by board) and let me just say OH.MY.GOSH. my hands are still sore and I found muscles on my body that haven't been used in YEARS! lol...but, it's all ready for the contractors - they will be here any day to get started. I will blog the process another day - once the new siding/trim is on. The deck will not be put back on for a year or so....but that's ok - one project at a time I've been told ;)

This week, over at 4 Crafty Chicks, our challenge hostess is the beautiful Tina. She's been "cooking up a brew" for us all to use this week - here's her recipe challenge:
  • use ONE image
  • use TWO pattern papers
  • use THREE bling
Here's my card using Tina's recipe:

This cutie is from Lacy Sunshine...these are larger rubber stamps, so I had to make my card a 5.25 x 5.25 this time around....she was a lot of fun to color. The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps....

I hope you get some time to relax and get crafty with us over the Thanksgiving weekend ... be sure to remember all that you are grateful for and enjoy that turkey, scrumptious pies, and bountiful friendships and family. Hugs!!

MM #108 and The Challenge #6

Happy Merry Monday!!

It is my turn to be the challenge hostess and I've decided I want to see STARS on the cards over at Merry Monday this week!

I have been wanting to play with Lesley's new project called The Challenge for a while now, so I got to work using her awesome sketch this week:

I took the liberty of moving my star to the opposite side of the sketch just so that I wouldn't cover up my little blue birdie on my image lol...Thanks, Lesley, for such a fun challenge this week!

The image for my card is called Frosty Winter Friends from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps....super dooper fun to bring to life!

Please be sure to hop on over to the Merry Monday blog HERE to see what the rest of the Merry Makers have created for you using STARS....you will not be disappointed!! Please stay tuned for another awesome challenge from The Pink Elephant!! Cheers!

"We Click!" TPE #238

Welcome back! This week at The Pink Elephant, we are issuing a SKETCH CHALLENGE!

I decided to make my card a 6 x 6 instead of the usual A2 size....and I received my Reverse Confetti order with my new ARROW DIE last week, so I *had* to crack it open right away and create something with it :) I have been watching my mailbox for the past week or so with much anticipation!!!! :D

The camera image and sentiment are from the Paper Smooches set called Perpetual Bliss and the papers are from Kraftin' Kimmie's December card kit - they match perfectly!!

Be sure to check out the rest of the creations the Design Team created using this week's sketch and be sure to link up your creation so we can come visit you! Happy crafting!!
