4 CC #261 Funky Hair

Happy Thursday everyone :)

Can you believe that school starts on Monday for our area?! No, I can't either - and it's a bit weird this year ... I only have one going back. Kim is in her 11th year and it's a full one. Summer holidays sure seem to fly by now....you blink and they are over. Maybe I will still get to the lake on a nice warm afternoon and stick my feet in the water and read a book....that would be sweet :)

It is my turn to be challenge hostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week. I decided to go a bit "FUNKY" and throw out the following challenge:

4 CC #261 Unusually Colored Hair

For my card, I colored up an image from Lacy Sunshine and made it using bright designer papers and gumdrops....for my SK8R letters, I used the Cute Alpha Set and Cute Alpha set Die from Your Next Stamp:

Come on over to the challenge blog HERE and see what the rest of the girls have got for you to drool over - there are some pretty funky cards :) Cheers!

Welcome back to my blog :) For the next 2 weeks, the challenge over at Top Tip Tuesday is "NAME THAT TUNE - SONG INSPIRED." I have had this gorgeous Lacy Sunshine girl in my stash for quite some time and although she's not a blonde girl...she still reminds me of the movie Frozen.

Recipe Challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday everyone! I hope everyone is doing well these days....I have been super busy this past week getting stuff ready outside to have our house re-sided! The very large deck we had on the house had to come down - so we disassembled it piece by piece (board by board) and let me just say OH.MY.GOSH. my hands are still sore and I found muscles on my body that haven't been used in YEARS! lol...but, it's all ready for the contractors - they will be here any day to get started. I will blog the process another day - once the new siding/trim is on. The deck will not be put back on for a year or so....but that's ok - one project at a time I've been told ;)

This week, over at 4 Crafty Chicks, our challenge hostess is the beautiful Tina. She's been "cooking up a brew" for us all to use this week - here's her recipe challenge:
  • use ONE image
  • use TWO pattern papers
  • use THREE bling
Here's my card using Tina's recipe:

This cutie is from Lacy Sunshine...these are larger rubber stamps, so I had to make my card a 5.25 x 5.25 this time around....she was a lot of fun to color. The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps....

I hope you get some time to relax and get crafty with us over the Thanksgiving weekend ... be sure to remember all that you are grateful for and enjoy that turkey, scrumptious pies, and bountiful friendships and family. Hugs!!

Make a Wish! {Embossing at Sweet Stampin'!}

Happy Saturday everyone! It's been a busy time around the Turner house the past couple weeks. Gearing up for school to start again on Tuesday; setting up our son with his own truck, insurance, registration; re-siding our house and taking the deck off so the contractors can work....both kids worked all this past week. Ya, been a little nutso!! LOL  I will be thankful when we are back into some form of a routine!

This week at Sweet Stampin' we are having one of my favorite technique challenges:

EMBOSSING!

Our weekly sponsor is Hobbycutz offering a £7.50 voucher:

I am not sure if you can see if very well but I used my large polka dot embossing folder on the black background layer. You may have to click on the photo to enlarge it. This super cute girlie is from Lacy Sunshine. The inside sentiment is stamped with "Make a Wish!" from Papertrey Ink....

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Southern Girls - Textures (I did dry embossing)
Divas by Design - Happy Birthday

The super-talented Sweeties have created gorgeous creations for you - come check them out at the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog and link up your project for us as well. Be sure to include stamping somewhere on your project! Happy crafting!!

{Your Favorite Stamp} at Sweet Stampin'!

Happy Saturday!! This week the girls at Sweet Stampin' wanna see YOUR favorite stamp! I have loved Lacy Sunshine stamps for a while now, and this one in particular, Hippie Eleanor, has always been one of my ultimate favorites! In all honesty, I don't really have ONE favorite stamp at all - if you saw my stash of stamps, you'd know I have wayyyy too many favorites! ;)

Our weekly sponsor is Quixotic Paperie - offering up a £10 Voucher

My "peace" sentiment is from a Paper Smooches set called Christmas Sampler...I just used the "peace" part of it lol...I added some flowers and sprigs of purple/white leaves and embossed the 2 layers behind Eleanor. I hope you enjoy her as much as I do!

Thanks for stopping in today - be sure to check out what the other Sweeties have created for you using their favorite stamps - click HERE! Have a wonderful weekend - hope you get some time to get inky!!

4CC #188 {Color A Stamped Image}

Happy 4 Crafty Chicks Thursday! I would like to take this opportunity to welcome miss Leslie from  Love to Scrap as our April Guest Designer...please be sure to hop on over and welcome her to the hen house :)

Miss Leanne is our hostess this week and she's issuing the following challenge for y'all:

4 CC #188 {Color a Stamped Image}

This card was super fun to make. My super-talented daughter, Kim, colored this image (I cannot take credit for that at all I'm afraid) and I told her I'd make her into a card. What an amazing job she did! You cannot tell from the pics, but she added some sparkle to her dress, bodice and wings but it's not showing up. Looks gorgeous in real life! WTG, missy!

This cutie-patootie is one of the newly released clear stamps from Lacy Sunshine called Abigail Cherished Wings. She's so adorable! Kim had a lot of fun bringing her to life in these colors and she's also made one in green/brown...can't wait to showcase that one sometime too! ;)

I'd like to enter this challenge into the Lacy Sunshine's "Add Flowers" challenge :)

Thanks for stopping in today and please be sure to check out what the rest of the Chicks have created for you. You can get to the challenge blog HERE. Happy crafting!

TPE #241 {Inspiration Challenge!}

Welcome back to my blog! If you are looking for my Merry Monday post, please scroll down :)

This week over at The Pink Elephant, we're issuing an "INSPIRATION" challenge!

For my card this week, I chose to go with the shamrocks and green in the photo and color up a brand new Lacy Sunshine cutie: Rory's Lucky Clovers...how appropriate for the inspiration photo hey?! Here's a close up of Rory:

I went in search of a layout for my card and came across this perfect one from Techno Stamper for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge:

Colour Q had the PERFECT color combo for me this week to add to the GREEN from the inspiration photo:

Here is my card:

I thoroughly enjoyed coloring Rory with my Copics and adding some new-to-me goodies to my card. The corner cut-outs are from MFT and the flower dies and sentiment are from PTI.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Lacy Sunshine - Use Spring Colors
Creative Knockouts - Girlz Rule!
4 Krafty Girlz - Anything Goes
7 Kids College Fund - Anything Goes

Guest Designer at Lacy Sunshine!!

Happy Sunday! Welcome back to my blog for some awesome, awesome news! I am so excited to announce that I get to be Guest Designer again over at Lacy Sunshine Stamps! OMGOSH, when I saw that Manderly picked my card as a GD winner last week, I was doing a jig!!! I just *love* these super cute images by Heather....it's an addiction, I swear....lol! Thanks again, Manderly! ♥

The theme this week is "to use a sentiment" so I found a round birthday one to match this super awesome sketch over at Digi Sketch Challenge to use for my card. I'm not linking this card up to their sketch challenge because they also have a theme of "for the men" and this card doesn't qualify for that - but I loved their sketch!!

The image I chose to "bring to life" is called Wrazzy Dazzle Button Buggmee

She was so fun to color up - I really, really stepped out of my coloring comfort zone here and just "went for it!" using whatever colors came to mind....something I don't normally do, but I wanted her to be fun, crazy and wild ;)

Make sure you also mark your calendars for:

Thank you so much for popping in today! The hubby and I are currently on our way home from a Rocky Mountain wedding (Canmore, AB) and I can't wait to share some pics! I love the mountains so much and I love to share their majestic beauty with everyone :)

Please be sure to pop on over to the Lacy Sunshine Challenge BLOG to feast your eyes on some of the most gorgeous creations you'll ever see - Heather's DT is amazing!! Then, make sure you link up YOUR project "using a sentiment" so we can go back and leave you some luvin's too! Happy crafting!!

4 CC #179 {Anything Goes} Crazy Egg!

Happy 4 Crafty Chicks Thursday, PEEPS!

 I cannot believe that January is over...wow...this month has flown by so quickly - the kids have started a new semester, we had such a HUGE dump of snow the beginning of the month, but we're experiencing quite the melt the past couple weeks! It's been so nice to have above zero temps! We'll take it - anytime!

For the challenge this week over at 4 Crafty Chicks, it is called our "Crazy Egg" challenge because there are 5 Thursdays in this month, so we like to do an egg-stra special challenge specifically for that - and they are always an Anything Goes.....

{Happy "Winter" Birthday} Seize the Birthday, Lacy Sunshine etc.

Brrrrrr!! It is soooo cold here in central Alberta, CANADA tonight. My thermometer is reading -27C and with the windchill, it feels like -35C! My kids are both off school tomorrow so the teachers can have Professional Development so I don't have to go out and about until Saturday morning. So that means, time to hunker down in the craft room with some coffee and Bailey's!

I haven't played along at Seize the Birthday for a long time, so I purposely sat down this afternoon and created - JUST for this challenge! The toppings this week is "Winter" and I just got this cutie patootie called "Flurry" from Lacy Sunshine and HAD to use her - she fits the bill PERFECTLY! I was so fortunate to be the Guest Designer over at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge blog this past week, and I am entering this card into the Anything Goes challenge there as well...

She was colored with Copic Markers and then cut out with my new 'Lil Inkers stitched mats...*love* these things! I then layered her on Espresso paper and popped her up with dimensionals. Don't you love all the glittery goodness?! Ya, me too! LOL
