Wintery, Cold Thursday....

Good morning! It's a very cold, wintery, windy day here in central Alberta. We are still in a winter storm warning for our area. We woke up to a bit of snow, but nothing like southern Alberta. The sun is actually *trying* to shine now....There are power outages, highway #2 has a no-tow zone and RCMP are advising no travel south of Red Deer. Crazy!

It's a great morning to light some candles, brew the Starbuck's coffee and do a card! So, that's what I did :o) I decided to give the Diva Coffee Break Designs color combo of Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise and Dusty Durango a go...I found it a bit difficult actually. I started it last night and had to leave it overnight while I slept on it. Woke up this morning and finished it off...I think it turned out pretty good :) I went in search of a sketch to use for my colors and found a cool square card over at Splitcoaststampers and over at Your Next Stamp Challenge, they want us to "Go Dotty" and that's what I did! Also, over at the Creative Belli Blog, they want us to create a birthday themed card with some "older" products...my Pink Passion cardstock is older as it doesn't get used very often. This card also qualifies for the "Make It Sweet" challenge over at Pile It On!

...and here's my card using all 4 challenges!

Stamps: Happy Moments; Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Pink Passion, Dusty Durango; Ink: Versafine Black, Basic Black, Dusty Durango; Accessories: markers, paper piercer, pearls, nestabilities, durango ribbon, dimensionals, sponge dauber
I hope you all have a fantabulous Thursday! Happy crafting if you get any in...I *think* my Stamp Camp will probably proceed tonight as scheduled, but I'm not 100% sure yet. Depends on the weather as the day goes on. Ciao!

A Quiet Afternoon....

The kids worked on building their new puppy a house with Nana, Papa and Uncle Jim this afternoon until 3 and then I took them to 4H (building a doggie house is Math, Science, Health, and Phys. Ed right?!? RIGHT!) so I've had pretty much the whole afternoon ALL TO MYSELF!!! OMGOSH, that doesn't happen very often :o) A girl can't let a good crafting opportunity like *that* go to waste now can she?! I got to work right away on the Color Throwdown and Mojo Monday challenges for this week:

Stamps: Thankful Accents (Verve); Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Old Olive DP, Barely Banana, Pale Plum, Cottage Wall DP; Ink: Versafine Black, Rich Razzleberry; Accessories: nestabilities, clear embossing powder, eyelet border punch, vanilla grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, pearls
I have to run and pick up the kids and I hope the snow stays away long enough for me to get back home. It's supposed to be pretty nasty here in my neck of the woods for the next day or so. Good hunker down days :) I have a Stamp Camp scheduled for tomorrow night here at my house, but if the weather is nasty, I might just cancel it and have it next week :)
You *might* see me again later on tonight - we'll see how things go. DH won't be home tonight, so I just might be able to crank out a few more treasures! Yay!
Later gators!

3-in-1 and a SU! CASE

Welcome back! The rain has started and we now have *puddles!* Yay! We so desperately need the moisture - I'm not really looking forward to the winter storm warning we are in, but I guess the snow will help with moisture too right?!

My next card came from my May issue of Stampin' Success - a magazine for us Demos. They were showcasing the new colors and I came across a card that they had in there and I wanted to CASE it with Arielle's color combo over at the ColourQ Challenge Blog. A Spoon Full of Sugar wants us to make something that has been 3D on our creations - I used pop up's for some of the circles and over at Our Creative Corner, they are wanting Blossoms on our cards/scrapbook pages - I have 2 daisies on mine. I really like how it turned out - I hope you do too!

Stamps: Circle Circus, Wow Flowers; Paper: Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Sage Shadow, Always Artichoke (I put more AA on the inside too), Bravo Burgundy; Ink: Bravo Burgundy; Accessories: various circle punches, sizzix daisies die, white brads, dimensionals, glue pen

I hope you are enjoying your day :) Stop by later for more!

Happy Birthday, Peggy!

Happy Hump Day! I got DH out the door and came to sit in my craft zone and get a challenge (or 7) done *wink* My card qualifies for the following challenges today:

...here is my cutie patootie birthday girl:

Stamps: Short & Sweet, Mimosa - Cupcake (Bildmalarna); Paper: Certainly Celery, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White; Ink: Versafine Black, Basic Black; Accessories: celery satin ribbon, button, linen thread, markers, white gel pen, dimensionals, oval punches, oval scallop punch, cuttlebug border embossers

The weather man says we are in a "winter storm warning" for our area and we can expect 12-15 cm of snow and/or rain today and tomorrow. I am hunkered down with candles lit, great tasting coffee and laundry has been started. I am hoping to be back later on today with more installments! My workshop has been postponed so I don't have to run out tonight...more time for stamping :) Yay me!! See you soon - stay warm!

SPCC #45 and Taylor's Cupcake Challenge

Good evening crafting PEEPS! It's been a verrrrry long day it seems but I just *had* to squeeze a card out before I went to bed...helps unwind the day and relieve your mind of some or all stresses I find.

After much deliberation as a family, we decided that we are going to increase our family size by one more, and get a dog. He will be an outside dog for the kids to play with and hang out with....his name is Cocoa (not sure how the kids are going to spell it) and he is a Malamute (sp?) Husky crossed with a black lab. I will post pic's once we get him here and all settled in. We have some work to do in the back yard with the fence and get the gates hung back up so he can't escape and the kids are in the process of building him a mansion of a dog house along with Nana and Papa's help. They are very excited!

Anyhewwwwww .... enough rambling hey?! On with the crafty stuff :o) I decided to give Samantha's color combo a try from Scrapmaster's Paradise and I combined it with Taylor's Cupcake Challenge over at Taylored Expressions. I need to admit whole-heartedly that these colors were WICKEDLY DIFFICULT for me...I love Kraft and Durango, but that green was so hard to incorporate in there. I think I did "ok" with it and it turned out alright in the end. Thanks, Samantha, for such a challenge - these are good to make us step out of our comfort zones and attempt some new stuff!

.....here is my card using both challenges:

Stamps: Vintage Labels; Paper: Kraft, Green Galore, Dusty Durango, Dusty Durango DSP; Ink: Dusty Durango, Basic Black; Accessories: scallop square and circle punch, square punch, large circle punch, dimensionals, ribbon.
Thanks for stopping in tonight...I'll hopefully be back tomorrow evening for another installment! Have a super night!!

Organization Meets My Craft Room!!!

Leanne and I had such a wonderful day today - we dropped both kids off at friends houses and did some errands in town. We grabbed a coffee and some lunch and decided we would do a "road trip" to Red Deer and spend the afternoon doing whatever came to mind. We met up with Melissa for a bit at Scrapbooker's Paradise (yep, Laura was working!!) and then Melissa had to run so Leanne and I spent about 2 hours browsing and filling up our baskets! OMGOSH, it was sooooo nice to actually look at EVERYTHING in the store...usually I have to rush, rush, rush and get back or go here, go there and get home. I pondered a lot of purchases and decided to get myself a new organization TOOL...well, ok, TOY....and I am totally in love! Here is what I purchased today:

The "Clip It Up" is the most amazing thing EVAH!!! I had a huge rubbermaid container full of rub-on's, and they are now hanging on HALF the bottom layer! I also had a box overflowing with pearls, and they are ALL hanging on the top layer....CRAZY hey?!? Now, I might use my stuff more cuz I can actually SEE it!

Leanne and I also hit Future Shop, Nutter's, Wal-Mart, Jysk, Costco, and then picked up Chinese food for supper - we got home around 8:45!! HA HA HA...it was a super great day....thanks Leanne! And thanks, Melissa for meeting us and I hope your day went well after you left the scrapbook store.

I have my Stamp-A-Stack tomorrow and then my stamping club on Sunday - so I will probably be back on Monday morning with another wonderful challenge from PPC!! Be sure to get on over there and do the challenge from this week....Monday is coming fast! Happy crafting....

Can We Say "FRAZZLED?"

Hello all my wonderful crafting PEEPS! I just thought I should pop on here quickly and let you know that I indeed have NOT fallen off the face of the earth...I am still around, it's been an extremely busy couple days. I purchased each of my kids a brand new laptop with our home schooling funding so that we can do school REAL GOOD next year :o) and so getting them all up and running has been definitely INTERESTING to say the least. I am also having major internet difficulties with my computer so I have contacted Telus to see if they can get something figured out.... then, today as I was putting a new 19L water jug into my water cooler, something went terribly wrong, and there was 19L of water all over my kitchen floor!!!! Kids were sliding everywhere, trying to scramble to help me out - the power bar was getting wet, so sparks were gonna start flying at any given moment...they ran for towels, I ran the pouring water bottle outside and dumped what little water was left in it, in the flowerbed...apparently, there was a large crack in the bottom of the bottle and so it will not vacuum on the cooler and it will push the water out wherever it can. And it did. OMG what a mess that was! And then...lol...yep, the day got better and better as it went on....my 2 yr old Dyson vacuum cleaner wouldn't suck. Now, anyone who knows about the Dyson, that is their claim to fame. But anyhew...to make a long story short, the hose has 2 cracks in it! So much for lasting years and years and years!!! I am having an extremely hard time finding one to be replaced here in Canada, so might have to just duct tape it and leave it for now until I can get a hold of them and see if they will replace it. My 2 year warranty was up 3 weeks ago :(

So, in a nut shell, that was my day LOL....I will attempt to get a card done tomorrow and put up on my blog....I miss my stamps and ink....so hopefully life will slow down even for a few minutes tomorrow and I will be able to make one. Thanks! See ya tomorrow....

Sneak Peek and Play Date Cafe Challenge #25....

I'm back with another challenge and a sneak peek from the new Summer Mini catty! I decided to do the Play Date Cafe color challenge of white/black/orange and I knew *exactly* which stamp I wanted to show you....it's a new one from the back of the Summer Mini catty that starts May 1st. I scoped around the challenge blogs looking for just the right sketch for my featured stamp...and I came back to the Mojo Monday sketch from this past Monday....hope you like it!

I totally LOVE the Night and Day DSP that was in the Holiday Mini...I sure hope they bring it into the main catalog in July! My DH helped me color the motorbike ... see, he's useful sometimes LOL...hahahaha! Just teasin...he's always helping me with my cards and he has to "inspect" every one I complete.

Birthday Stamp-A-Stack Card #3

Happy Saturday! It's another bright, sunshiney day here in central Alberta...temps are supposed to reach 20C again today - time to dig out some shorts and flip flops. Yay! I just wish I felt 100% better and could enjoy the heat, but with a head cold, it's not really a lot of fun.

DH is going into town after a bit to do some errands, go to the chiro, etc., so I am going to get busy and get a few challenges done here in my craft room and I only have one more project to prepare for my monthy club get-together happening next Sunday! Yay me!! I am normally scrambling like crazy to get ready and I've gotten 3 classes ready to go all by myself! Love it!

OK..enough ramblin....here is the 3rd card we will be creating at this month's Stamp-A-Stack. It can be used for a Male, or Teen birthday and you could use it for ANY color combo:

Stamps: Vintage Labels (SAB); Paper: Soft Suede, Whisper White; Ink: Dusty Durango, Soft Suede; Accessories: large circle punch, scallop circle punch, soft suede ribbon, silver brads, embossing folder, dimensionals, clear blocks

This is a nice, clean, simple card that won't take the girls very long to pump out. I like the simplicity of cards like this - that still make a nice, bold statement!

I hope you have a chance to enjoy the wonderful sunshine today, wherever you are. Thanks for poppin' in to enjoy your morning coffee with me - I'll be back in a while! Bye!

Bright, Sunshiney Day!

Good evening again...yep, it's WAYYYY past my bedtime (especially being as sick as I am) but DH is away tonight and the kids went to Nana and Papa's to have a sleepover - so I decided to chat with my great crafting PEEP, Leanne, online while I made one more card. I saw the new Color Throwdown color challenge and the Inspirational Card Sketch challenge for this week and knew *exactly* what I was gonna do....mwah, ha ha......

This card also qualifies for the Papertake Weekly Challenge of "Cutie Pie" - don'tchya think?!? LOL....
Isn't she cute too?! All these little ones are so adorable...I just love 'em :o)
Stamps: Sunshiney Day - MFT; Paper: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Basic Gray, So Saffron DP; Ink: Basic Black, Versafine Black; Accessories: Nestabilities, paper piercer, pearls, markers, dimensionals

Sorry for the short, short post tonight, but my head is about ready to explode off my shoulders and my nose is a runnin' away on me...time to go and take some Benylin night time and crawl into my nice warm bed for the night. I hope to be back sometime tomorrow!! Ciao!

SPCC# 43 and a Mercy Sketch - Feel Better Soon

My daughter, Kim, and I worked on this card together this afternoon. I was having some difficulty with the colors and she put in some advice here and there and we came up with a real CUTIE PATOOTIE card together :) Thanks, girlie!! xoxoxoxo

We used the color combo from Scrapmaster's Paradise - and I must say, it was definitely a CHALLENGE! I was thinking there was no way I'd be able to pull those colors off, but Kim and I did ok. We also used Mercy's sketch from Lord Have Mercy! challenge blog. The sketch was perfect for me to ink up one of my new sets from My Favorite Things....a cutie patootie from the new Pure Innocence line:

.........and VOILA!! Here is our collective creation:
