Makin' Flowers at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Happy Thursday! Did you happen to see what the challenge is this week over at 4 Crafty Chicks?!? It's a FUN one..."Make Your Own Flower!" OMGOSH...how fun is this week gonna be? I can't wait to see what fun, exciting flowers are created. I went in search of a new technique that I have not heard of to make my flower...I came across THIS VIDEO from Dawn Olchefske to make ribbon flowers out of satin ribbon. Make sure you check it out and give it a try - it's easy peesy!!! Here's the flower I made using the above mentioned technique:

Isn't that flower just GORJUSSSS!?! And seriously, like I said earlier, so easy to make! I will be making a lot more of these, I know that! For my card today I used a wonderful Verve Plain Jane sentiment along with embossing folders, bakers twine, nestabilities and bashful blue satin ribbon.

Please take some time to go and check out the other CHICKS' blogs for more floral inventions! I know they will knock your socks off...be sure to play along with 4 Crafty Chicks this week - we would love to see what you create! Cheers!

Tuesday Night 3-in-1

Hello again crafting PEEPS! The wind is still a howlin' out there, but at least the snow has quit. We are in for a chance of more flurries tonight, but a slim chance, so we'll see! DH and the kids were busy playing the Wii tonight so I decided to take that little window of opportunity and *RUN* to my craft room, shut the door, plug in my iPod and get inky!!! :)

I decided to do Julia's wonderful sketch challenge over at Little Paper Shop Blog. I flipped it on it's side and decided to use a sentiment as my focal point. My DH loved the saying! This card also qualifies over at Totally Stampalicious for their challenge of "Flower Power!" and Crafty Catz Challenge Blog for their challenge of "Spots"

Here is my card using all 3 challenges:

Stamps: Growing Old (LPS); Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Pea DSP; Ink: Brilliance Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron; Accessories: paper piercer, nestabilities, flowers, brads, pearls, pumpkin pie ribbon, dimensionals, glue dots, sponges
Well, that is it for me tonight - I have a few challenges I am anxious to attempt tomorrow so until then, sleep tight!! G'night!

Curtain Call - Act #25

Hello crafting PEEPS! It's a sunny Sunday here in central Alberta - with NO WIND!! Can you believe it?! Temps are chilly, but that's fine - as long as the wind stays away, it's all good! Well, Stacey has out done herself again - she has a wonderful color combo for us today over at Stacey's Stamping Stage! VERY bright colors :) A lot of these wonderful brights will be "no longer" in a few months - but, I'm very excited about the revamped color palettes that Stampin' Up! is bringing in....it was time for a change!

Stamps: One of a Kind (SU!), Floral Symphony (Verve); Paper: Yo Yo Yellow, Green Galore, Whisper White, Pixie Pink, Only Orange; Ink: Green Galore, Pixie Pink, Basic Black; Accessories: Markers (Only Orange, Green Galore, Yo Yo Yellow, Pixie Pink), Finial Press embossing folder, embosslit, boho blossoms punch, white brad, Nestabilities, paper piercer, dimensionals

I got the layout idea from an older sketch challenge over at Inspirational Card Sketches. I randomly stamped flowers on a piece of white (colored with markers) and then used that as my DP! :)
I am not sure if I'll be back with another card or not. I have some upcoming classes I need to prepare for and all my supplies came in the other day so I had better get at it! I am going to take Tamie's kids back home later on this evening and have supper with her then I'll be home. Until then....happy crafting!!

Whiff of Joy and Color Dare Challenge....

Oh it's been such a *wonderful* day here in my craft room :o) Coffee tastes fantastic, tunes are cranked, ideas are a flowin'...and the challenges are wicked today! I've had such a great day!! Here are the details of my next creation(s)....

Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog has this wonderful sketch challenge up for us to try:

I have a few of their stamps and I totally *heart* them....this is the first time I've had ink on this one! She seems a bit "solemn" so I decided to make it a sympathy or "sorry" card. Seemed to fit her.....

The gals over at Color Dare have put together the most AWESOMEST colors...I really love this combination of colors...had no difficulty deciding what to do with them!! Hope you enjoy it too!!
Here are the 2 cards I made with the same stamp...I decided to make one a blonde cutie and one a brunette cutie....hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!!

I am not sure if I will be back tonight or not, I have a very busy weekend ahead and so I need to get some stuff ready for that. Kim, our daughter, has a competitive swim meet in Edmonton tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. and that will be a full day. I might be back on Sunday - we'll see how the weekend goes....take care and happy stamping!!

A card from Bon-Bon....

I received this very pretty card from a very special person yesterday in the mail....her name is Bonnie or Bon-Bon as I like to call her. She is like a Mom for me. She is always watching out for me, is there when I need her and is such a wonderful, loving person. Thanks again Mom!!! I love it! xoxoxox
