TAWS {Be Inspired #41}

Happy Sunday!! Today is going to be a snow-blowing/baking/crafty day....we got over a foot of snow over the weekend and so I will be heading out with my son to take turns operating the snow-blower shortly. I wanted to enjoy a delicious coffee first while making a card for the "Be Inspired #41" challenge this week over at The Alley Way Stamps!

Here is the inspiration photo for the challenge:

I took the "polka dots" and "coffee" aspects of this photo and dug out a couple sets to work with...Tag-Alongs and Mad Gab....

I sponged all the edges of my layers, stamped the coffee cups on the Crumb Cake layer and also on some scrap Crumb Cake and fussy-cut them out and popped them up :) They are so cute!!

Today, a bunch of us crafty PEEPS are celebrating a birthday with such an *amazing* lady!! I have gotten to know Anne Marie over the past 6 months via Dynamic Duos, however, she doesn't realize that I've *adored* her and her talents in the crafty world for years!!! I was tickled when Lesley Croghan asked if I'd like to join in on the party!! :)

I chose this uber-cute image from "From The Heart Stamps" and the sentiment was just so darling and fitting....I know Anne Marie loves animals and PINK, so that's what I combined together :)

My daughter, Kim, helped me with this card - she LOVES puppies and she loves to color...so I cannot take full credit for this card - she colored the image for me. It is one I won from a blog hop over at One Crazy Stamper and the image is from High Hopes. The sentiment is from an Alley Way Stamps set called Christmas Magic. It was nice to have her come sit with me and craft together - she is finding it relaxing to color some images right before bed, so we get to hang out in the craft cave for a bit :)

For my card, I used the super-dooper cute "Sock Monkey - Girl Balloon" from Bugaboo:

I am just now dabbling in the world of digi's and I think I may have a new addiction *gasp* I could never get them to print properly or they would smudge when I started coloring them, but now that I use X-Press It! paper, they turn out PERFECTLY! A whole new world has opened up....ha!

Rockin' Sharks....

 

I was asked by my daughter's competitive swim club (called Ponoka Pool Sharks) to make a couple thank you cards for some special people in our club. About a month ago, I was doing some shopping over at One Crazy Stamper and came across this oh-so-perfect stamp from Whimsy called "Pool Shark!" How awesome is THAT?!?

I used sentiments from Paper Smooches to finish off the cards ....

For my project this week, I found this tutorial at Splitcoaststampers for a mini pizza box....

You could make these cute boxes in so many different colors and will fit cute 3 x 3 note cards and envelopes or even a small trinket gift for a wonderful friend....

There it is all put together with ribbon and the card on top with an envelope....

More Snow-Day Fun!

 Welcome back to my blog! I am back inside from a couple hours of blowing snow, helping DH get the tractor going so he could plow out our yard and driveways and helping the kids with shoveling snow off the deck. It's so heavy!! There are places in our yard and by the shop/barn where it's up to my thighs! :O CRAZY!! There is no school tomorrow due to bad roads, so the kids and I don't have to go anywhere (yay, a snow day!!) but he's leaving for work and I'm thankful it's done while he was home!

I came across this very cool sketch from Retro Sketches and decided to rotate it clockwise to suit my image: from Birdie Brown (who, by the way, is closing her digital store at the end of November - so rush over and grab your digi's before it's too late!):

And here is my card - I decided to make a 5.5 x 5.5" card for this challenge:

I added some stickles glitter to the pom-pom and rim of his hat, added some rhinestones and a large dew drop on the snowflake bunches!! Very fun!! Totally in love with this new paper pack from Echo Park called 'tis the Season :)
