Good morning! I hope the sun is shining in your neck of the woods - it has sure been nice to see here in ours...we have had such a rainy, cold summer here in central Alberta - we are welcoming these 20C temps with much happiness!

Today I am bringing you a wonderful creation I "whipped up" for 2 challenges:

* 4 Crafty Chicks is at it's 5th Challenge already, and since it's the last Thursday of the month, that means it's the "Crazy Egg" challenge and there is a wonderful prize being offered by our wonderful Leanne! The challenge this week is to use a "CHICK" (bird) somewhere on our creations.....

* it's ColourQ's first birthday! They are celebrating BIG TIME and this week they issued a double-whammy! We needed to use the sketch provided AND pick our fav color combo from the past year.....so here we go.....

...here's the color combo that really grabbed my eye:

and here's my card using a bird, the sketch, and the awesome color combo:

I Won at Color Dare!

OMGOSH, I am so pumped! My good friend, Tamie, called me about 10 mins. ago and told me that I was the Featured Stamper over at Color Dare for THIS card!

Thank you ladies...it was a lot of fun using those colors and I can't wait to play more challenges with you!

The Secret is Out....Stampin' Royalty Guest Designer

Yep, I was keeping a secret! LOL...and today, I can tell you ALL the secret....I was chosen to be a Guest Designer for Stampin Royalty for this week's sketch challenge! When Sandra emailed me, I was crazy-silly with excitement - it was like a Hollywood celebrity was emailing me :) I accepted with great honor and the sketch they have this week is AMAZING!

I really like using the Northern Flurry embossing folder for quick, easy cards as it gives you that ready-made background. I embossed the church/tree scene and sponged the edges of my oval to give it a softer look....I hope you enjoy it!

Stamps: A Wish for Peace; Perfect Punches; Ink: Basic Black, Versafine Black; Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black; Accessories: Northern Flurry embossing folder, clear embossing powder, black brads, dimensionals, black and cherry markers, scallop circle punch, black satin ribbon, big shot, Oval scallop frame Bigz die, sponge dauber

Be sure to go on over to Stampin' Royalty and join in on this week's challenge. Don't forget to visit the rest of the DT for some extra-added inspiration! They are an amazing group of talented ladies and I thoroughly enjoy participating in their weekly challenges! Thanks again, Stampin Royalty, for letting me play among the QUEENS as Guest Designer this week! It was a lot of fun!!

A Couple Christmas Cards...

I thought I would show you a couple more I made today with my new set, Come to Bethlehem, from the new Idea Book & Catty...and some super fine glitter and sugar beads (2nd card)...

I started by stamping the image on Whisper White cardstock with Versafine Vintage Sepia....Then I cut out a piece of Sookwang adhesive sheet that was a bit larger than my stamped image. I peeled one side of the adhesive off and placed the image face down onto the sticky side. Using a craft knife, I carefully trimmed around the image and then peeled off the other protective paper, revealing the other sticky side. I placed it face down in a tray of Sugar Beads (the first card was done using transparent glitter) and moved it around to ensure that the image was fully covered. I matted the image on some Chocolate Chip cardstock and adhered it to my card base... and WALAAA! Instant beautiful!!!
Now, just so that all you SU Demo's know...I *did* try to use our adhesive sheets that are being sold in the Mini, and it {does} work, but the beads/glitter will rub off :( The Sookwang sticky paper is ULTRA STICKY so it does work better...
Thanks for stoppin' in tonight - be sure to hop on back in the morning - I have a secret I will share!!!! :)

Micro Bead M-A-G-I-C!!!

So...at our stamping club, we each take turns providing a card &/or card front for each of the members in the club. Loretta came up with a suuuuweeeeeeeet card today! This stamp is a Thomas Kinkade and we used Sookwang sticky paper on the front to adhere super tiny glass micro beads!!! I'm not sure if you can really "tell" in my photo, but maybe if you click on it and get a bigger view, you will see them....

OMGOSH! I have never mucked with micro beads and let me just tell ya - I was in AWE! I will definitely be getting some clear ones and doing some Christmas cards with the Wish for Peace set and maybe the Lovely as A Tree set....the possibilities are endless! And...instead of the Sookwang sticky paper, I'm gonna give our adhesive sheets a shot (from the Mini) and see if they work....Ha!!!

Thanks for stopping in and thank YOU, Loretta, for such an awesome demonstration! :)

A Saturday 3-in-1 Sympathy

Good afternoon! Are you having a good weekend so far? Now, I know this stamp set that I am about to show you is not a SU set, but it is one of my favorite sets for Sympathy cards and I am *really* happy with how this one turned out, so I'm displaying it here.

I am also entering this card into Stampin' Royalty's challenge this week of "stitching." I faux stitched on this card, so I am hoping it will still qualify! The challenge over at Cute Card Thursday is to have a bird somewhere on your project - and that I have.
