PPC - CC#30 and DCBC #193 - Sympathy Card

It's time again for a wonderful color challenge from Picture Perfect Creations....Megan picked a great trio for this week, don'tchya think?! When I laid them out on my craft table, the first thing that screamed out to me was "BOY COLORS!" However, that is not were I went with my creation...last Thursday evening, I got a phone call from a very distraught friend of mine who had just lost a wonderful friend to a plane crash and I *knew* right then and there, I was making a sympathy card. The colors are perfect for it.

I combined my colors with the gorgeous, simple sketch from Diva Coffee Break Designs Blog:

Mojo Monday #134 - Sympathy

Good afternoon from my craft room! I wasn't going to make another card today as I'm suffering from a nice head cold *UGH!* but I decided to take some Benylin daytime capsules and give it a shot! LOL..I'm glad I did cuz this card turned out pretty good (I think - wink!) I've had this set from Verve for a while now and I've been wanting to ink it up - today's Mojo Monday sketch made that possible!!

Stamps: Forever in Our Hearts - Verve; Paper: Very Vanilla, My Mind's Eye DP; Ink: Sage Shadow Classic Ink, Choc Chip Craft Ink, Close to Cocoa Classic Ink (sponging); Accessories: sponge dauber, choc taffeta ribbon, dimensionals, clear embossing powder, scallop trim punch

I don't think I'll be back again tonight. DH is on his way home (yay!) so I think I will have a hot bath, a hot rum toddy, and crawl into bed early. I will be back sometime tomorrow with another installment.

Don't forget to hop on over to Picture Perfect Creations Crafty Challenges blog and give this week's color combo a try....it's a gooder!! *wink* Happy crafting!!

Terrific Thursday....

Today has been a good day. The kids only had a 3-day school week, so we all got to sleep in today! YIPEEE! After working at the school for the past week, being able to sleep in was a real treat for me :o) When I got up this morning, we were experiencing some wonderful fat flakes of snow and it lasted all morning into the afternoon - looked soooo pretty! Tonight after running some errands in town, I got to sit down and make some much needed sympathy cards. I bought this cuttlebug folder a while ago and have been really wanting to try it on some sympathy cards. I think it turned out wonderfully. What do you think?

Recipe:

Stamps: Close as a Memory
Ink: Basic Black, Basic Gray
Paper: Going Gray, Basic Gray, Basic Black
Accessories: pewter brads, black grosgrain ribbon, sponge dauber, ticket corner punch, leaf branch cuttlebug folder, martha stewart butterfly punch

Artichoke Sympathy

Good evening stampers! Yep, it's still *chilly* here in central Alberta...I guess winter has set in. We have to admit, we've been fortunate up until now with no snow and warm temps, so it's time Old Man Winter has come to visit :o)

Sympathy cards are ones that I don't make very often, so tonight I decided that I would tackle one or two. I made 2 of the same card tonight so that I would have some on hand. I found an idea on Paper Craft Planet but cannot remember whose gallery it was. Sorry! My DH left today for up north so I will be muckin' around in the craft room for a bit yet tonight....I *might* make one more card and post it tonight - stay tuned! :o)

Stamps: Embrace Life, Fine Lace, Close as a Memory
Paper: Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Always Artichoke marker, sponge dauber, chocolate felt ribbon, chocolate brads, dimensionals
