Crochet Tote Bag - Monomey Studios

Happy Sunday everyone - I just completed my first ever crocheted tote bag this morning and I absolutely love it! I got the pattern and cord from Simona from Monomey Crochet. Her customer service is top notch and her shipping time was pretty good coming all the way from Lithuania - I think I got my cord in approx 2-3 weeks. I will definitely be ordering more in the near future :)

The pattern is very easy to follow and Simona also includes a video tutorial for those who need a visual learning experience also. You can find her YouTube channel HERE. I am excited to try more projects from her! Thanks for popping in! Cheers!

Hot off the Hook!

Welcome back to my blog everyone!

I just wanted to pop in quick and show you a couple of custom crochet orders I completed in the last couple days....these infinity scarves are GORGEOUS in real life - I tried very hard to show the true colors in my photos. The top scarf is made with James C. Brett Marble yarn and I have attached a picture for your reference. The second scarf was made with Debbie Bliss Rialto Chunky in Denim (top ball in the picture). Both yarns were found at The Crafty Lady in Lacombe, AB....my fav go-to yarn store for the more luxurious, higher quality yarns. If you're ever in the area, pop on in and see them! You will not regret your visit!

Both scarves are made using the Bella Coco V-Stitch pattern, just the top scarf is a bit wider and longer. You can find the You Tube video HERE.

As you can see in the 2nd picture, it was hard to capture the right blue in the scarf picture. The top ball is the true color of the scarf! Gorgeous!

Thanks for popping into today - I have another infinity scarf on the hook today using a different shade of the James C. Brett Marble yarn....will pop in when it's all done! Happy crafting!

Behind the Scenes with my "other" Addiction....Crochet!

Welcome back to my blog!! I have been a busy girl in my spare time (which isn't much these days - with my bookkeeping course, clients, yard, cards, our business, life lol!....winter is coming though LOL) doing my other addiction - crocheting! I started the awesome yarn hobby back when I was pregnant with my son, Calvin, in 1996 - my Aunty Sharon taught me how to make a granny square and that was it, I was addicted!

I always made afghans for family members and very close friends, dishcloths when needed, and the odd baby blanket here and there. I never really thought about doing enough of it to sell until I started getting custom orders for dishcloths, coffee cozies, and infinity scarves last November!

I signed up to be in a craft show with my sister, Jackie, this November 4 and 5 and so I have been busy stocking up on dishcloths and other items since last Christmas:

...and infinity scarves:

this one is the one on my hook right now:

I recently got a custom order to do some beanie hats for a cute little toddler (2 years old):

And I also want to get a bunch more of these coffee cozies done up as well - they make AWESOME Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers!!

This is my recent purchase for my business advertising - fancy hey?! I got it from a neighbor's Thirty-One Gifts online party she had. I LOVE IT!!! I take the project I am working on with me wherever I go and people know it's my business name :)

Thanks for stopping in today - I just wanted to pop in a few pics of some recent projects I have been working on - I have a lot more that is already stashed away, ready for the sale so thought I'd just give you an idea! I will also be selling my cards in the sale also - hoping to get rid of a good chunk of those! Ciao for now - I'm off to grab some tea, my hookin' and watch my recorded episode of Jimmy Fallon (starring Blake Shelton) - always belly laughing material when those 2 get together! Cheers!

Bringing it all together....

As many of you know, I have a deep love of coffee, crochet AND paper crafts....so today as I was getting some dish cloths put together with these adorable free printable bands (link at bottom of post), I thought, "ya know...why not bring all this stuff together and place it all in one home? Ya...great idea! Now...what to call it?!"

Caffeinated Creativity could not suit me better. My creativity is almost always fueled with a strong, delicious, creamy, sweet cuppa joe. And so it is. My new blog. I have had Inkingly Yours for quite some time so all I did was change the blog name and address so that all my settings etc. would remain the same. Thank you to anyone popping back in to follow me again!

I have a Facebook page, also called Caffeinated Creativity, where I am currently selling my handmade crochet items and I will also be incorporating my cards there as well. I am not certain if I will open up an Etsy store for this yet or not...one step at a time!

Alright...a little bit about these adorable free printables for my dish cloths...I came across Kim Layton's amazing blog HERE and I was so tickled when I found these labels. They are so me :) Thanks again, Kim!

Here is the lot of what I have done so far and so many more to come yet...I keep adding more colors of yarn to the stash ;) So, remember, if you go to my Facebook page and like them but you don't see the color you'd like, shoot me a quick message and I will let you know whether or not I have your color. If not, I will sure try my best to accommodate you!

Most of the dish cloths in the picture are waffle stitch pattern like the ones you see below:

The pattern for these can be found HERE.

Well...there you have it! A fresh start - with all my loves in one place :) I have a lot more crochet items over on the FB page but you can wander over there anytime and check it out. I will be updating and blogging here more often now as I will have blog posts related to yarn and coffee to share as well as cards.

Cheers for now.....

Favorite Food/Beverage at As You Like It!

Welcome back to my blog everyone!

The challenge over at As You Like It for the next 2 weeks is to showcase a project using
your "FAVORITE FOOD/DRINK" (& why).

This could also be interpreted as a colour too, eg favourite is chocolate so use brown,
or you like strawberries so use pink/red.

Remember - You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

I think by now you've got it figured that my ultimate favorite is a drink and yes, it's COFFEE! I made a bunch of crochet coffee cup cozies for Christmas presents and to sell and they went like hot cakes! I like hot chocolate and I only drink tea when I'm sick. Coffee is the bomb! I love all the different varieties you can get (breakfast blend, espresso, columbian, etc) and all the delicious flavor shots are a bonus as well!

Here are a couple more cozies that I crocheted:

I hope you can come on over to As You Like It and get creative with us! You have until June 15th :) Happy crafting!

4 CC #283 {NO CARDS!}

This week over at 4 Crafty Chicks, I am playing challenge hostess for our next challenge...this one excites me - BIG TIME! I cannot wait to see all the entries!

I am looking for ANYTHING BUT A CARD. So...if you are into scrapbooking, painting, crocheting, knitting, altering 3D items, etc. I want to see it! I am showing you my latest "hot-off-the-hook" project that I made for my niece, Reagan....

A few months back, Reagan and I were on Pinterest together and as I was scrolling for a new project to PIN, she said "Aunty, when are you gonna make me a blanket?" Awww...so....I told her she can help me pick the colors and the pattern and omgosh she almost hit the ceiling she was so excited! She has hounded me almost weekly asking "Aunty, when are you gonna be done my blanket? Aunty...are you sewing on my blanket?" LOL....

These colors match her bedroom and the stitch is the Granny Stripe. Crochet is my other "addiction" craft that I have - I hope you enjoy it and if you would like to join the rest of Chicks for this week's challenge - hop on over to the hen house HERE and link up your "non-card" crafty project! I'd love to see it! Cheers!!
