Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge - March 2017

Hello everyone! Today is a very exciting day - today marks the beginning of another month-long challenge where you could win a $25 gift certificate to the Paper Sweeties shop. Be sure to stop by Paper Sweeties to get some inspiration on their wonderful blog and in their gallery, do some shopping, and then come play along with us in this month's challenge.  Here is March's wonderful inspiration photo:

The challenges over at Paper Sweeties are always ANYTHING GOES with the inspiration photo as your jump-off point. So you can use the colors, shapes, or theme to help you create your project. Here's the card I made using the "coffee" theme, and I pulled pinks out of the picture too:

This card is actually a bit of a sneak peek - I stamped the super cute coffee/tea pot and cups from You Warm My Heart (coming soon!) and colored them with my Copics. The sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder on a teal strip cut out with the Sweet Cuts Sweet Borders die. 

Both the image and sentiment were popped up with some foam squares for added dimension. All products used are linked at the bottom of this post :)

MM #237 Shimmer, Sparkle and Shine!

 Happy "Merry Monday" everyone! 

This week, our challenge hostess is miss Nina and she wants us to add some sparkle, shimmer or shine to our cards :)

Here is my card for Nina's challenge:

I decided to use a pre-colored digi (I believe it's from Wee Stamps), and then I added some glitter embossing powder to my scrap paper, then cut out my Merry Christmas dies from the scrap paper and glued it down. 

I added a few sparkly gum drops and wa-laa! Done! I wish I could show you the sparkle a bit better - was hard to capture with my camera

"Feline Good" with The Project Bin

My card is pretty straight forward - I stamped the cute kitty and colored her with my Copic Markers and wanted the main focal point to be the kitty so I kept the design very clean and simple.

For my background (polka dots) paper, I used a spray stencil from Heidi Swapp but I used a sponge dauber instead and filled the holes with die ink....so fun!!

Guest Designing with SAS 4 Kids!

I am so honored to be a Guest Designer for Send a Smile 4 Kids! Here is what they are all about:

Send A Smile 4 Kids is a charitable blog created for the purpose of collecting donated handmade cards to be distributed to children while they are inpatient at Children’s Hospitals. Currently we are donating them to eight children's hospitals in the USA and to several hospitals in Canada through our sister Canadian chapter of SAS4Kids.  On any given day, there are many children inpatient in these hospitals so we would love to receive as many cards as you can send to cheer them and their families. The kids may also use your cards as Thank You Notes to the nurses and doctors and to give to parents or relatives on special days like birthdays or Mothers or Fathers Day.  Any cards appropriate for children are welcome including any holiday (not religious specific please except to the Illinois location) and happy any day cards.

This cause means a great deal to me as I have had a niece and nephew who have needed The Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, CANADA. My nephew still frequently visits and works closely with The Stollery to help him with his T1 Diabetes. There are kids in the hospital who cannot leave for special occasions or holidays etc., so it's nice for us to donate cards that THEY can give their parents, caregivers, friends, and nurses/doctors. So, if you ever get a chance, consider donating! Here is the Canadian contact person's info:

Sending THANKS with The Project Bin

Happy Saturday everyone! 

Today I am sharing another project using The Project Bin stamps. I decided to make a thank you card...One can never send out too many of those - saying thank you is so fun and always received well - the world needs more of them I feel....

This sentiment is from the Autumn's Calling set:

The fonts in this set are SO PRETTY and I love all the flourishes and extra stamps that come along with the sayings! I decided to emboss my sentiment with winter white embossing powder:
