4 Crafty Chicks Inspirational Challenge

Happy Thursday my blogland PEEPS! I am so stoked for today...my baby sista and I are getting packed up to head out to Banff, AB (Rocky Mountains) to do some hiking, sightseeing, SHOPPING, and a wonderful day at the Banff Springs Hotel Spa! I am sooo looking forward to it :) One can never go wrong with fresh mountain air, Starbuck's coffee and a day at the spa.....

*SNAP!* Ok, back to reality now .... LOL... our hostess-with-the-mostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week is Melissa and she came up with this "interesting" yet gorgeous photo for us to create with. I must admit, the only thing I kept seeing when I came back to look at this picture was a BIG PUMPKIN in my vision :) But, alas, I overcame that vision and found I could overcome my inspirational block - I think my card turned out pretty good...here's the picture:

so...then I was in need of a sketch to follow for this wonderful inspirational idea I had....and of course, the Mojo Monday sketch was the perfect fit for the image I chose: ...and without further adieu, here is my card using both challenges:

Stamps: Upsy Daisy; Paper: Whisper White, Garden Green, So Saffron, Peach Parfait DP; Ink: Garden Green; Accessories: So Saffron, Peach Parfait and Garden Green markers, green pearls, dimensionals, So Saffron ribbon, Martha border punch

I realize my ribbon isn't quite like the sketch asks us to use it, but I had to tweak it a bit to make my image work :) That's the beauty of sketch challenges...we can adjust them a wee bit to fit our needs, right?!? *giggle*

I sure hope y'all are able to sit with a great tasting cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate and create with us 4 Crafty Chicks this week. I cannot wait to see the lovely projects that are made with Melissa's inspirational photo (it really is a nice pic, Mel!) Be sure to hop on over to the other 3 Chicks' blogs for more beautacious inspiration...

  2. Nicely done Lori, and NO pumpkins, I was for sure thinking I would have seen a pumpkin in your card. I love this stamp set, one of my favs. The border, very nice, and the colors oh so work. Have fun on your trip. WTG!

  3. Beautiful, clean and simple card with nice fall color scheme. I like it because it's clean and simple, and it isn't too busy with extra ribbons, bows, buttons, silk flowers, etc. (as is often the case with some cards). Well done.
