PPC - Color Challenge #6
Megan over at Picture Perfect Creations has a very interesting color challenge this week. I saw "boy" when I layed out my cardstock. I am having a Stamp-A-Stack at the end of April and we are going to use the Extreme Elements and Extreme Guitar for a "teen" birthday card. So, I decided last night to try a template out....I didn't follow a sketch challenge or anything, I just "wung it!"
** P.S. Don't forget...make sure you hop on over to Picture Perfect Creations and apply for their Design Team call! Time is running out.....
Stamps: Extreme Elements, Extreme Guitar, It's Your Birthday; Paper: Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Dusty Durango and Naturals White; Ink: Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Dusty Durango, Versamark, Basic Black; Accessories: Durango ribbon, black pearls, black embossing powder, dimensionals, sponge dauber
Today I am planning on making more cards. Each of my kids will have a friend here for the next couple days, so I will have a house full, but they will all be entertaining each other...right?!? :o)
I am going to run and put a roast in the crock pot so that supper is all done - I'll be back in a while! Ciao!

Shabby/Mojo/Paper Shop Monday
This morning Tamie is coming out to visit and craft with me! Not sure what we are going to do today - either crochet on our projects or make cards. I got up early with DH this morning, so figured I might as well get to work on a card right away....I hopped on over to Little Paper Shop and there was a nice color combo there from Allison:
Julee over at Mojo Monday has an awesome "round or square" challenge out there for us again this week...I chose "square"
and...over at the Shabby Tea Room, they want you to create a card using some scraps in your scrap box...I rummaged through there looking specifically for So Saffron, Chocolate and Kraft DP or scraps and I did find some...kind of a funny thing, cuz if I *didn't* have any scraps in my scrap box, it would be a miracle cuz I have a LARGE scrap box! LOL....
Here is my creation:

Friday Installment #2
I decided to give the sketch challenge from Inspirational Card Sketches another go, except I flipped it this time to allow my image the room she needed! :)
And...over at KL Stampin N Scrappin Blog, their challenge this week was to use flowers and stitching (be it real or faux) and I faux stitched along the borders a bit...and..............here is my girlie girl:
Friday morning Mojo....
I have had Samantha's color challenge (from Scrapmaster's Paradise) in my head for a few days now and to me, it screams MALE...I know, I know...there *is* pink in there, but what R-E-A-L man can't handle a wee bit of pink, right?!? *giggle, snort*
The gals over at Stamp With Us also have a "MALE CARDS" theme goin' on last week!
I then needed to find a sketch to do my colors justice, so I clicked over to Lord Have Mercy, and boy did Mercy have just *THE* perfect sketch for what I wanted to do.....
As soon as I saw Mercy's sketch, I ran and grabbed my Lovely as A Tree set and got to work....I hope you like it:

Color Throwdown #85
Then I clicked over at Inspirational Card Sketches to see what sketch I could use with those colors. As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew *exactly* what stamp I was using. Remember when I told you I won a $25 gift certificate to the Verve store? Well...the stamp I used on my card is one in a set that chose towards my $25! It's a lot of fun too!!!
Voila!! Here is my creation:Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Late night birthday CASE....
A friend of mine requested a "special" birthday card for the love of his life and she is totally a horse lover, so I *knew* exactly which card I wanted to attempt to make. It was one that Tamie had done for her son's 13th birthday back in January. So while I was at her house today I asked her if I could totally CASE the card and she didn't mind at all. Click HERE to see Tamie's original. I did a bit of masking on the horses so that I could add some trees in the background, moved my sentiment and added some ribbon and a bow. I hope he likes it. I have loved this card since I saw Tamie's creation and I've wanted to make some ever since. This gave me a great excuse!
The gals over at Totally Stampalicious have a challenge out this week to use ribbons and polka dots - so I guess this card qualifies!! Yay!
Stamps: Bareback, Lovely as a Tree, Well Scripted; Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Night and Day DP; Ink: Always Artichoke, Versafine Black; Accessories: top note die, polka dot embossing folder, satin ribbon, dimensionals, button, linen thread, pearls
Let me know what you think! I sure appreciate all the wonderful comments! Hugs!
Monday morning mojo.....
I promptly went over to The Shabby Tea Room to see what they had in store for us this week and they want us to create a "spring-themed" card/creation.
I hopped over to see what sketch was at Mojo Monday and Sarah put up a very cool, interesting one this week! I love it!! Here it is: ..and I remembered this *challenging* color combo from Stacey over at Stacey's Stamping Stage and I knew i could come up with something "spring-ish" from that!!! RIGHT?!?
I must admit, I struggled with the color placement with those colors. I took the yellow out, put the yellow in....took the red out, put the red in, took the polka dots out, put them in....LOL...I *think* I did ok with all of the challenges this morning - I really enjoy the final card....hope you do too!
Stamps: Circle Circus, Well Scripted; Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Pink Passion, Whisper White, Night and Day DP; Ink: Pixie Pink, Yo-Yo Yellow, Basic Black, Real Red; Accessories: Real Red satin ribbon, button, hemp twine, sponge dauber, pearls, nesties
Alright...well, I decided to give the kids the rest of the day off of school today - Tamie's kids are home today from a Professional Development Day, so we're gonna head up there and have a visit and some supper! Yay!! The kids are so pumped! :o) I will be back later on tonight - I have a special birthday card I need to make for a customer, so until then, happy craftin'!! :)

A FUN Color Dare!

Joycelyn and Rebeccah from Totally Stampalicious are very good friends with my good friend, Diana - they grew up together or went to school together!!! How C-O-O-L is THAT?! What a small world hey?! I bought a couple of stamp sets off of Diana that she was trying to market for Joycelyn and Rebeccah and came RUNNING home right away and got to work making a creation with one!!! SPCC #39 and Mercy Sketch
This morning was another early start :o) DH left around 5:30 so I got up and got the good 'ol coffee pot crankin' and my mouse was clickin' looking for more challenges. And boy oh boy, did I find some!
Mercy over at Lord Have Mercy has a FANTASTIC sketch challenge up for ya this week:
The Divas over at Scrapmaster's Paradise came up with a very bright and interesting color challenge this week:
...and, without further adieu, here is my creation:Monday, March 15, 2010
Another Monday installment....
Tonight I decided to sneak one more card in before I go sit and crochet for a while and then continue on the series with book #3! :o) I hopped on over to Debbie's first challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room - and awaiting me there was a wonderful inspirational color challenge of pink, red, brown and green. Sounded easy enough so I needed a sketch....I clicked over to 2 Sketches 4 You and found a very interesting sketch challenge for us - thanks Kazan!! Over at Pile it On, they wanted us to use pastels...so I already had Pretty in Pink picked out for one of my colors so that was good! Away I went and got to work....I used the wonderful Trendy Trees set for this card - I hope you like it!!
